#framo #barkas #gdr Since 1927, the Saxon automobile company Framo has been producing small vans. The name Framo derives from the original production facility in Frankenberg. Frankenberg Motor Works. After the Second World War, the Vehicle Construction Industry Association continued the production of small vans under this brand until 1957. After that, the name was changed to VEB Barkas Werke Hainichen. Almost in the same breath, the company headquarters were relocated from Hainichen to Karl Marx Stadt.
We have a Frame 902-1 one tow truck here. There were only two originals of the vehicle. There are now two pieces again and this is the second, which was created as a kind of replica.
It's just a piece of history and the shape of the Framos is basically unique. You can see that on the snout in front. A nice little mode of transport. Yes, and of course the passion for collecting makes it too. Framo is a passion. The shape of the vehicle. The history of the Framos.
So Framo is an artificial word. Means Frankenberger Motor Works. They started building cargo tricycles in the 1930s. We also have one there.
For this video I was lucky enough to be able to see this beautiful Framo in a towing variant and was even able to ride with it. A great experience, as you can imagine.
