François Gaudet: An Acadian Artist is an exploration of François' exhibition at the Acadia University Art Gallery in 2019 where he used mixed media pieces to create a mythical Acadian homeland. His pieces speak to his Acadian ancestry telling the story of the Acadian people by addressing the deportation, exile and return, the idea of home, Evangeline, the wild horses of Sable Island and the Grand- Pré historical site.

François Gaudet is an Acadian artist based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. His artistic practice is rooted in his Acadian heritage and the circumstances of exile and return that characterize this heritage. In addressing the issues of displacement, disorganization, transgression and hybridization, he aims to define the identity of his ancestral land. His pieces tell the Acadian story through art, and he encourages the public to engage and sometimes collaborate on pieces. He views art as an interactive rather than passive experience and also as a form of storytelling. You can follow
