And well into the 90's I have very fond memories of watching him on the Tele during the the early and mid 90's WELL into reruns into the early 00's. Well missed and sadly tared with the same brush as saville. Even though saville was a dirty nonce, Freddie starr wasn't.

Absolute genius. Reminds me of the good days when tv was at its best. 25 million viewers not the 2.5 million TV gets now. The rubbish, glory hunting love island big brother etc etc crap we have now is embarrassing. These two together were Absolute gold. Rip lads.

Two entertainers who had a completely different style but had great respect for each other and actively bounced off each other. We have all seen the friendships that shouldn't work but do. I.e: the sensible person is best mates with a crazy person.😂

Force of nature is an understatement for Freddie. He was a brilliant physical comedian, as well as verbal. His sketches where he tried to sing with a 'faulty' mike always have me in stitches. And yet, at no time, ever, was he nasty or patronising to either his host or audience. Some of today's 'comedians' should take note....

Freddie was like Spike Milligan, so unpredictable. You could tell he inspired nervousness in those surrounding him because you never knew what he would do next! 😁

Poor Freddie, he certainly was a funny guy, my wife and I seen a show of his in Edinburgh’s Playhouse Theatre, it was hilarious, before his troubles became public. RIP Freddie. 🙏👍🏴

Freddy only had to look at the camera to crack me up. Unhinged and unpredictable, you never knew or could predict what he he was going to say or do next. People in the audience were very nervous because of this, but it’s what made him so hugely popular.

Hounded by the media to the point of no return Freddie Starr uspset a lot of celebrity's and fellow entertainers during his career.all due to his wild antics.but he was a complete comedy genius the likes of which we will never see again.why is there no statue or plaque to celebrate his life.because he was as I said hounded to death by the press and police in operation yew tree.found not guilty of the charges against him.and allowed to die alone

My Mum and Uncle knew Freddie WAY before he was famous! My Uncle played lead guitar in the group Freddie Starr and the Midnighters in Merseyside. He was very poor back then. Always used to ask them for "thripence". Freddie never got in touch with my Uncle. Not a nice man.
