Takes a minute to make yourself. It’s the $2000 freezedryer’s fault that it takes 2 hours lol

How do you order the 1 tray option, for those extra puffy candies... ? :)

In all seriousness, I wonder how feasible it would be to have a modular rack system. This would be a big innovation that would make you quite competitive.. tray supports you slide in as needed and a backplane with connectors they connect to, say a 7 bay capable with 7 connectors, each shelf support has the heating pad wired to the connector and you can remove them as you need more or less room... Would give a lot of flexibility in what you can run but of course some complexity for the connectors...

Why does the inside ofnyour freeze dryer isnt frosted? And your not using the heat tray?

It's a minimal amount of water so you don't really see the ice build up. Its also a custom heat tray that only has one tray. We build them upon request but we don't carry them in stock.

@@MrCrazyoneeye Yeah a lot of things play into that. Humidity is how long the door is open, candy recipe vs fruit, how quick you start the cycle before putting food in, and the water content of the food, there are a lot of variables.

Cool, but 3k for a freeze dryer? What would you even do with it?

A great question! Some of the main reasons to own a freeze dryer include emergency prep, making custom meals for camping/hiking, making homemade dog/cat food, starting a small compony (especially selling freeze dried candy,) making custom meals for special diet needs like allergies, and just every day food preservation, for example: With a freeze dryer, if you bought a bag of apples, instead of eating them till they go bad and throwing out the rest, you could freeze dry half of them and keep them just as fresh as when you first bought them. It's an investment, but easily pays for itself in short time. Thanks for the great comment!

@@BlueAlpine Sounds great, but for apples wouldnt a freeze dried apple seem disgusting?

@@Nokunanolane Most people don't rehidrate fruit, they just eat them like chips or add them to things like cereal. This can be very yummy. If you rehidrate them they will get a texture like an apple slice from an apple pie, which can be gross by itself but good in some recipes. Coincidentally I'm working on a video about this exact subject, so keep on eye out for that, it might answer some of your questions.
