Robby Gordon, former Nascar driver, developed this craziness. From what I've read, he built 21 trucks and rents them to other drivers for $25,000 a race, or $225,000 a season. Basically this includes everything you need and covers the cost of the wrecks.

Baja racing meets road racing. The reason their wheels come of the ground in the corners is because the suspensions are primarily designed to deal with the jumps (without killing the driver). They are not as fast as NASCAR or Formula One, but they add the jumps. Basically they bring the Baja to a Town near you.

Most race cars run on a biodiesel that burns completely clear. Which is why you don’t see exhaust fumes out of the tailpipe. They switched so long ago. The biodiesel is made from plant materials and burns exactly the same as regular diesel. If you see engines burn that’s not the diesel going up in flames that engine parts usually a piece of metal or a engine component. Nascar uses it as the replacement for diesel fuel and Indy car circuit uses a derivative of this biodiesel that burns at a high speed to get as much efficiency as possible although the Indy car burns fast outside the car and can set people on fire fast without them knowing until you start seeing scorch patterns on clothing and skin. A foam is used to put out the fire fast as it neutralizes the chemical reaction that starts the burn. NASCAR uses a less volatile form of biodiesel as the races last only a few hours so less refueling and longer lasting fuel.

You should watch NASCAR videos with the sound off while listening to the classic record "Shut Down". (classic LP from the 60's) Like the record sleeve says.. "You can smell the rubber burn...". The "chicke run" scene from the classic American Film "Rebel without a Cause" illustrates America's obsession with cars going back to the 1950's.

If you look at the trucks, you will see company names painted all over them. They are basically paying for advertising, which covers the costs of the vehicles and the repairs, plus how the driver finishes and the money he makes. I am a 60 year d American and this is the first I have seen one of these races. They do have truck races which is like nascar. No flying and bouncing around. Basically a race car on a small truck frame and setting really low to the ground.

As far as racing goes, this seems to be one of the cheaper sports. Just v8's and tube steel chassis. All the cars are identical and maintained/repaired by the same team. As for the whiplash when jumping, it should be about the same as a roller-coaster. So fun. Not that I recommend landing like Matt Brabham every landing. Also the ramps are part of the race track, however they are allowed to skip the jumps if jumping is unsafe but if they do they cannot pass other drivers.

NASCAR does have truck races just not those. The trucks nascar use are more powerful with a fin on the back to keep the truck down. It’s kinda hard to explain as they don’t look like trucks. It’s under the NASCAR truck series. You can kinda tell they are trucks but different. You can tell the truck frame is there but it’s weird as they are so heavily modified that the original truck look is lost. You just have to look at it.

At the 8:41 mark you think they included ramps so they could cheat turns because obviously they can't corner like a f1 car. Regardless I wouldn't mind checking this out in person. You should also checkout drag racing Marie a video don't do it justice though. With drag racing the closer the better that way you can feel them go down the track as well as watch.
@mfree80286

They included ramps as a means of producing the off-road racing experience, and to keep the speed down. They're like vertical chicanes, the ramp is designed with a target speed of 70mph so the trucks must slow down to jump. Without them they'd likely try to pile into a corner at their top speed (140mph) and... not corner.

Hi there Marie 🚦🏆 I've also never seen this crazy sport before , it's definitely for the daredevils out there,I guess I'll be willing to try almost anything dangerous once,how about you maybe as a passenger first to see how its done, it's more exciting to watch then Nascar which is more about strategy , the trucks bouse around but at least they don't have these devastating crashes like Nascar, while watching this the phase 'hell for leather' came to mind. This video was in Australia right but we all know how much they love crashing cars in the American south ,I wonder why that is ?. Anyway who isn't a fan of John Schneider a good ol'e boy who still got what it takes even after all these years. I'll be checking out what orthers have to say like you to discover more and giving them likes. After Nascar maybe your want to take to the skys with high speed Air-racing over various cities. On a final note I didn't know you were takeing suggestions for video's I'll keep in mind for the future. There is a seat a steering wheel and control pedals. a few gauges on the panel in front of the driver. There are two versions of these trucks. (this) One operates on paved surfaces the other one operates on a dirt track with more jumps. in the NASCAR topic there are also two categories Cars and Trucks. They operate at much higher speeds and they dont have as many turns. Then there is the Formula One racing which should be familiar to you since there are european races and tracks
