Don't listen to that DonO. He don't know what he's talking about... Funny thing is after you shot that, that night we drank the N.E. Hazy that I said the same thing about a hop aroma. Then we had a Lagunitas I think. These mini tours through seasonal offerings are fun.

Fresh hop beers should be whole cones off the bine and straight into the brew kettle, if possible. Freshist is bestist - pick 'em, brew 'em. Then again, for those without access to whole hops, surely 'fresh' pellets is best for their situation. Also, just want to say thanks Chip for your continued beer voyages, I've loved your content over the years, keep going - chop and brew!

Thanks so much! I agree wet whole cones seem the best way to celebrate the harvest in beer form.

Sorry, i don’t want no pellets in my fresh hop beer and as far as I’m concerned they are not. They can be good for regular beers, but they are not fresh hop beers….c’mon meow. Chip you know damn well pellets don’t belong in “fresh hop” beers and so does Lagunitas.

To be fair, I think that was Odell and Surly using different fresh hop variants of pellets. But I get your point.

I'm still on a pumpkin ale kick, but I'll have to stop by my local bottle shop and get some fresh hop brews
