Those are some great tones Mark! Actually that is the best tone I have heard from the BE100 , yet.

This is what has me scratching my head about high-end am manufacturer's. You could watch 100 Friedman BE demo's, and not hear a tone like this. It completely misrepresents the amp line. Had I know a BE could sound like that, with that much mid-focus, punch I'd have purchased one by now. I would think that would concern Dave Friedman. One in-house demo with their amps dialed in the way they were designed to sound would be all that's needed. Tone is always subjected...but, there are "KZitem Celebrities" who weren't even able to dial in this amp to sound like this (Clean or dirty). They almost always use too much gain, among other things. This was KILLER. The only thing wrong is that they spent too little time on the tone itself, given it's a manual, as opposed to a demo. Every amp under B.A.D., should have it's own well-dialed in demo for each model, and skip the KZitem celebrities, BS.

This amp is absolutely amazing! I had an opportunity to try one at Guitar Center. Surprised they even had one for sale new. Clean channel is surprisingly versatile with only two tone controls. But what impressed me the most,is.that even with the gain dimed.The gain still remains musical, punchy and expressive at ten. No trace of muddiness or mushy bass heavy sound to the gain. Excellent product! Wish I could afford one lol.

So badass but I have a question, if I'm at a gig (and using the effects loop) and I want to turn the amp up or down I have to reach behind it and use the master? That seems like a problem...how does it play out for you?

Please do not take offense because I am truly one of your biggest fans. I purchased the Axe Fx Ultra and the Axe Fx II and the Friedman amp (Steve Stevens) largely because of your videos. However, I am a tad disappointed to learn that your fantastic tone in this video(may have) required approximately two thousand dollars of additional equipment (maybe 1700 with the right connections)! My question is how much of the tone is secondary to the Two Notes and the Roland? Also, I hear delay. What effects were you using (any overdrives or the EQ on the Two Notes)? Again, do not get me wrong Mr. Day, if I need to shell another 2000 clams to nail that tone, then I will do so. The tone is that amazing. Of course, your fingers account for a significant amount of the variance and I will, unfortunately, be unable to buy those!! Thank you for your kind attention.
@mrcali68

Your videos are superb however on this one I would suggest going in to way more detail regarding the loop! That is actually a deal breaker for me (assuming I'm understanding it correctly). So if the master on the front "must be set between 5&6" that means that during a gig if I need to adjust my volume I need to reach behind the amp and adjust the volume? I think a video just on that would be helpful if possible. I was literally about to buy one of these but that stopped me dead in my tracks. Not being critical, just looking for some guidance here.

Is there some amount of diode clipping at work with ALL distorted settings or only in saturation mode? In other words if you set the amp up for lower gain crunchy sound are diode clipper out of the signal path?

Mark have you had a chance to A/B the BE50 vs the BE100? I’m about to buy one of them. The 100 I have played and love all the channels. Kinda wish the HBE boost had a level control. Do you think using a boost in the loop would work? I’m considering the HX Effects and could do all that through the loop.
@samhillband

I don't work for Friedman anymore, I work for Fractal Audio. I have not A/B'd the two amps, sorry. A clean boost in the loop would work fine as a level increase device.

Even with a sound check. When your playing gigs you usually adjust your volume on the first song. Sometimes you adjust slightly as the night goes on. The thought of having to reach over the back of the amp to adjust the volume 'cause I'm using the fx loop is a major turn off.
@cmath8577
3 жыл бұрын
Hey Andrew. The fx loop return volume control on the rear is there to compensate for any level changes your effects might cause. The master volume for the application you are talking about is on the front panel. You don't need to reach over the back to adjust your level. You would do this on the front of the amp
