After recently finishing a new QCX Mini for 40m and subsequently making a new homebrewed ultra-light dipole for the two Minis I now have (20/40m) using 30 gauge wire plus just getting a new UMPP-1 paddle (made by GM0EUL) in the mail, it all had to be tested in the field. I chose a never-before-activated summit in my area (W7U/IR-012, no name, but dubbed "Rocky Tower") as the maiden voyage for each of these items. This is my 80th ATNO for SOTA.
It's a beautiful area, tough hike with bushwhacking, but a great day for getting out in nature and getting on the radio.
