@@rob062388 He was singing way out of his range. That's why you can see him struggling when he tries to go higher and in some spots he couldn't go as high as the studio version. I always say, if you can't hit the notes live that you do in studio versions then don't use those notes on the album to begin with.

Quote from Carl Bell from Fuel "When we started the process, I was of a mind that the songs had to be undeniable. I was not going to rest until I had those undeniable songs. That really sucks though. The thing about the Rock genre is the raspy voice makes it all the better, unfortunately singing from your diaphragm makes most of the raspiness very faint, which takes away from the song. But, I would much rather have a singer keep their singing voice, than to see them lose it, especially so early in their careers.

*****, Yes it has! Thank goodness for that. Brett released an album with his side project band World Fire Brigade (check them out if you haven't already. They are like a heavier version of Fuel) in 2012, and he sounded spectacular in that. There are even parts of those songs on the album where he sounds like he did on the first two Fuel albums... and of course he sounded even better in Fuel's most recent album "Puppet Strings," that was released in 2014. Just FYI, Fuel is currently working on their sixth studio album. I cannot wait to hear new music from them!
