Larry Kidney was my Powerlifting coach. Amazing strength athlete. I was fortunate to have him as a coach.

Bro, what an amazing competition. I loved every event. The ending was awesome! What a standoff! Imo this was the first WSM that had all solid events. Kaz is one of the greatest ever and Capes was impressive all around here!

World's strongest man channel, can you please pass the 1988 competition where Kaz tried to make a comeback against Jon Pall Sigmarsson.

Kaz over all was more impressive than him in that comp. He won all the big static events.

That battery hold was brutal. Couldn't they have used something lighter? :D

Recommend that they do a battery hold with a AAA for 2024 and maybe they can get Energizer as a sponsor.

Four decades later, Superstar Billy Graham said that he and the other competitors suspected Kazamaier was blood doping. He said Kazmaier would go back to the hotel between events and come back full of energy. It was like he had slept for 20 hours and ate a steak dinner.

In later years Kazmaier would disappear for an hour and have a pint of blood drawn and replaced, giving him a big advantage.

Geoff was not a pure strength athlete so in a way he did amazingly well had he trained soley for strength and put on more weight he would have been unbeatable in that time

They were both dug in so not really an advantage and what do u expect him to do? Capes could have also. Since they had both given up using their legs, it was only bodyweight, and the heaviest will win eventually. Capes just gave up because he didn't feel like carrying it on indefinitely, and being tired from other events.
