Nah man that bear mode physique looks sick. A lot of lean and shredded influencers put on a normal shirt irl and they'll look like they don't even lift. The way they're coping with it now is "sleeper build" lmao. I mean I'm not hating, being shredded and looking good naked is great. But so is being ACTUALLY big even if you don't look as impressive in pictures for social media. Alex got me so motivated with that idea back in the day. Motivated the hell out of me. Cool video. Really liked the format. And sound/video quality are on point, for someone that's supposedly not tech savy

Thank you dude. Yeah the sleeper build trend is interesting. Whether it’s used as acceptance or used to cope with being afraid of bulking kinda changes it lol. @BasementBodybuilding

It was a little awkward at first, but I ended up really enjoying it. The main thing I noticed is my mindset is guaranteed to be in the right frame for talking about lifting. Another thing is lifting is like a natural stimulant in a way, I feel more energized and sharp during a lift than before or after. The editing is a double edged sword, there’s not a whole ton a can do for these because my iMovie freaks out with long videos and crashes/stalls lmao plus the audio is recorded separately, so trying to manually align the video and audio multiple times would be incredibly tedious.

Question related to tricep training: If you have 9 sets of triceps weekly would you rather invest 6/9 towards the smith jm press and 3/9 to overhead extensions or the other way around if the focus is on developing the long head? hey, I'm into sound engineering, just wanted to let you know the new mic sounds really great. Maybe it distort a tiny bit in some places but tbh it's not really important and it doesn't happen all that much. In any case it's way better than the audio of your car videos lool. I love that type of long videos btw thank you !
@BasementBodybuilding
3 ай бұрын
Glad I have your approval because this has been the biggest struggle of my channel this far haha. I messed around with the dbs a bit, the mic I’m using (rode go 2) ranges from 0 to -30. I landed on -3, seemed to pick up the noise the loudest, but it may be a tad “rough” for a lack of a better term, so might bump that down a little next time.
@LouisSerieusement
3 ай бұрын
@@BasementBodybuilding yeah the rough side is because it distort very slightly. But it's not that obvious, you could probably keep the same setting and be ok. if you go below by a few DB (on your mic), you won't distort, but the sound might be quieter (even if it peaks at the same value as a distorted recording). This is because by distorting you reduce the dynamic of the signal, meaning it will appear louder anyway. if you want to reduce the dynamic without distorting, you could dial back the gain of the mic, and then slightly compress the signal in your software. that way your voice would be loud but without distorting (like they do (too much) on the radio) Or you could just accept to have less dynamic, slightly dial back the gain of the mic (without compression afterward), and have a more natural feel to your voice. it would be maybe a little quieter but ok as well (and you could also just dial back the level in the software, to compensate a bit). Hope that was not too much audio nerd talk x) cheers !

@Kuchipop

@@BasementBodybuilding nice I’m the same way. I train “full body” 5x per week, but not every muscle group every day. But it’s not a confining myself to a “split”. Sort of how you put triceps on “pull” day to stay fresh. I’ll do the same thing, some muscle groups like back/quads I like doing 2x2 (lifts x sets) with typically a 2x/week frequency, others like arms/chest/delts/hams/calves I prefer 1x3 with 2-3x frequency depending on my weak points. I think sticking to under 6 sets max per session for a muscle group helps keep you fresh, and get more quality sets in. If you’re training with a bias towards intensity, and lengthening/stable movements along with good execution, 2-3 sets can toast a muscle group

gotta get on the burpees for the bulk! 1 pumps, 2 pumps, navy seals, 5 pumps, whatever. just set a timer for 10min a day and hit burpee amraps. if anything i recover better from doing that because it gets the blood flowing and no muscle is failing.

Yeah I’m not in the best shape at the moment haha, although I will say I’ve always been out of breath and fatigue quickly (endurance wise) regardless of cardio status and bodyfat %. It’s something I probably need to learn more about to figure out my situation.

@@BasementBodybuilding i think high effort + bracing on resistance training will get you out of breath to a degree no matter what. you might have blood pressure on the lower side, who knows!

1:00:25 Exactly , lmao .. the moment i heard that i was like WHAT ? , i was waiting for someone to say this haha "Here's the Best exercises according to science" , Him 5min later : "I'll put that in B tier because it doesn't feel good to me" . how does that make any sense ? . "Oh this exercise bothers my shoulders , and i found it awkward so i'll rank it low , and this exercise always felt amazing and i feel amazing stretch doing it so i'll put it in S+ tier as it's one of my favorites" how's all the "I , Me , My" and then call it Science based ? just have it be like any other anecdotes tier list like NH's or something .. (but hey , if u throw in some studies here and there to show the exercises u like being good , well that's science based ye ?) even in his recent short for training to failure or not : "here's a study done on *UNTRAINED SUBEJCTS* and found no differences between training to failure and not , therefore u don't have to" Like don't get me wrong , i like Jeff and followed him for years , but sometimes i am like Come on man that doesn't make any sense haha

Regarding the algorithm talk you might be correct that most of your viewers might have found you through other channels. However, in my case it actually was the algorithm that recommended your muscle group breakdown whiteboard-video. Been watching ever since.

Maybe I’m not as bad as I thought when it comes to the algorithm haha

Yo BB. In your power shrug tutorial you said it's important to retract the scaps. Is it dangerous to not do so? I feel a much better stretch when I let the scaps roll forward.

How do you feel about cheat supported t-bar rows? (machine). Started doing those recently and they feel...weird.
