Welcome to episode three in our FDR Series, which covers each phase of a full-depth reclamation project during construction. Full-depth reclamation is a road construction technique that recycles and reuses the existing pavement to create a stronger base for the new road. Episode three covers the preparation prior to paving the new road surface. For this project, that includes sub-cutting the gravel and sand underlay, then grading and compacting the roadway. This ensures the road will be at the correct elevation and provides a solid foundation for the new driving surface. Stay tuned for the next episode in our FDR Series where we'll discuss paving and gutters.
