Celebrate this Full Moon 'Purnima' in this 45 minute yoga nidra practice. A guided meditation designed to bring you into a deeply relaxed state or light altered state of consciousness for you to rediscover a sense of who you are, how far you have come, and to reflect upon all of the wonderful gifts you have received thus far. Connecting to the moon and this ancient wisdom reminds us that we are worthy, whole, and more powerful than we think. It is a potent time for celebration, reflection, abundance, but also to discern what no longer aligns with our path. It's an opportunity for us to let go of anything that's no longer needed here.
Yoga nidra is an ancient technique of guided meditation used to bring one into a light altered state of consciousness sometimes known as wakeful sleep or conscious sleep. In this deeply relaxed and healing state, one can disconnect from the thinking mind, and return all of that energy back home to the body for regeneration and rejuvenation. Imagine your most nourishing power nap. It has been shown that just 30 minutes of yoga nidra can be equivalent to almost 3 hours of deep sleep. Be guided through a body scan to relax and calm the nervous system. Yoga Nidra is an effective meditative technique to help reduce stress, relieve tension in the body, restore a sleep deficit, and instill a deep sense of peace and calm into the body. Relax into knowing that there is nothing that you need to do. Simply, just listen.
Relax back into your cozy little yoga nidra nest as this voice only yoga nidra allows you to listen intimately, carrying you into deep wakeful sleep. Under the light of the full moon and a backlit of stars, imagine your most peaceful relaxed state as you let go of thinking and open your awareness up to sensing and feeling.
In this practice you will be invited to cultivate a deep sense of gratitude as a feeling tone or a positive Bhavana, to reflect upon the things you feel grateful for in this life. As well as the version of your past self and everything that's brought you to this moment. You'll be invited to call in a Sankulpa or an intention in an effort to decide which way you wish your life to go. As you relax under the light and the wisdom of the full moon, discover how deeply connected we truly are to nature and the natural cycles. Step into your power and remember that you are more powerful than you think. Take what you need from this practice and leave all of the rest behind.
Emerge from this practice feeling rested, restored, connected, and with a renewed sense of wholeness and aliveness within. Step back into your waking state feeling rejuvenated and more balanced.
