Is the crank gurtil changing the bearing specs a common problem when doing this? Or is it only because you are running a dry sump?
@NEVER-LIFT
3 жыл бұрын
Not sure if it’s common but definitely something that needs to be checked, this was only one of the many checks Mat did and I’m not running a dry sump I’ve got mrp’s wet sump setup

What kind of solid lifters did you use?
@NEVER-LIFT
3 жыл бұрын
Not sure exactly Mat takes solid shims from a motor that comes with them standard and just happens to fit the 4age Don’t think he’s too keen on sharing that info though I believe other aftermarket companies produce them but they are just a little more expensive

Solid lifts or shim buckets are from Yaris 1NZ. its a 3 cylinder so to get all 16 is difficult.

What the life span of the rod bearings?
@NEVER-LIFT
3 жыл бұрын
Not sure man there’s heaps of variables but I’m not planning on pulling my motor any time soon I’d like to get 5-10 years of solid driving out of it and we purposely set the rev limiter quite low to extend the life of the engine but you never really know with a race engine
@benosumlack2494

Did you use 4age or 7afe for water pump and oil pump?
@NEVER-LIFT
Жыл бұрын
I used a 4age RWD Water pump and part of the 7a block needs to be clearanced for it to fit but otherwise it just blots on. I'm using a 4age 20 Valve Silvertop oil pump, Mat and I both agree that its the superior pump and I also have a video on that in my "ask an engine builder" series. Keep in mind that you need to port match the oil gallery so the 4age pump has 100% flow on a 7afe block 👍
