Hey Chris, good to see you got out for a paddle. Happy belated birthday. For some reason I thought it was in August. I'll be 59 in September. Not feeling any older yet. Everything is still working well. Those 10 foot pelican kayaks are much easier to get in and out of compared to my sea kayak. Our family has two of the Pelican kayaks and one sea kayak. It is never graceful getting nor out of them. Near the end of your upriver paddle it was like you were on a kayak treadmill 😃A few weeks ago I went up a river for quite a bit before the current got too strong. It was fun going back down the river. That was a very simple lunch for you. I guess when it is 150 degrees out you don't want to cook. You looked pretty beat out at the end of the paddle upstream. I hear you on putting away the camera. I keep mine in a dry bag in the kayak. I fell while getting out of the kayak 2 years ago and dropped my Sony camera in the ocean. Somehow it survived. The same summer I dropped it in a pond and again it survived. It was not a waterproof camera. The screen stopped working on a kayak trip last summer. Oh well, just part of the making outdoor videos I guess. I just uploaded a Sawyer Squeeze quick tip video on Sunday. Are you still using yours? I found it was a handy thing to have on a family kayaking trip in Ontario last summer (still didn't edit that one yet) I will be heading out on another camping trip next week.....Take care, Mike.

The only thing I really like about this Pelican vs my Old Town or other canoes is the weight of it. I can pick it up and put it on my shoulder while still carrying stuff in my other hand.... I need to check out your new video... I finally got one of those CNOC bags to put on my Sawyer filter. Next thing I need is a waterproof camera! 😂

Hey Chris, nice sweaty adventure. I think I would rather have been in a canoe. A bit easier to get in and out of since they are a lot higher. I went camping for 6 days a few weeks ago. I picked the wrong week. I think it was 150 degrees while there. 🥵😆 That's pretty unusually hot for Michigan in June.😵

Yeah that is rough rowing there. Me and Beth were paddling upstream (man made lake with in inlet at the top) and we just couldn't get it going, we started zig zagging from one side of the lak to the other and finally made it. Took quite a while. Found a quiet edge and chilled. Then when we came back? We enjoy the quick ride. lol. Blink of an eye or two and we were back at camp. Insane really. That was down in Mt. Pleasant back in '19. I told the guy they should have an onboarding dock at the TOP of the lake. He gave me a weird look and said "well you got to paddle it both ways anyway." And I said, "nope. Get out at the bottom and leave it. Get your guys to drive themt back up." Doubt he took my advice. lol.
