I actually got one in 30-06 with the same camo, but it was actually a green version of it, and it had a flush magazine... I literally cannot find a picture of it on the web... it may be a custom built one, but it was sold by my local gun shop for the exact same price as the other ones they had that were normal. Pretty weird lol, but yeah I wouldn’t of gotten it if it didn’t have the flush magazine.

@@shannonhondo260 it's in that "dreaded" 6.5 Creedmoor everyone love to hate! The rifle isn't completely "factory" still either, I put it in a new Boyd's stock with a raised cheek comb height (the factory stock is about 1/2" too low to be very accurate for the majority of people's head size) that I pillar bedded and I polished the factory trigger sears to a mirror finish as well as trimmed the springs to get the pull weight down.

@@shannonhondo260 also, since then I've ditched the Hornady 143gr ELD-X and switched to the Hornady 147gr ELD-M's. They're just as accurate but unlike the ELD-X "hunting" bullet they have better terminal performance for hunting at close range and extended ranges. The ELD-X likes to have jacket separation under roughly 300 yards, but the ELD-M stays together from 50 to even 800+ yards. I hunt antelope a lot and with their super keen 8× vision they can spot you even at 500+ yards and spook, so sometimes you have to shoot that far and I needed "one bullet" that could do it all.

Just picked this rifle up about a week ago. All around a dam good rifle. With ammo being hard to find I picked up a box of pmc 147gr fmj and have been getting quarter sized groups at 100 yards. Only con I seen is that to take down the rifle you have to remove the mag release with a punch. However my cousin liked this gun so much he picked one up too and his came with the 4rd flush fit mag. I bolted in his mag well onto my stock and everything fit good. So I will be picking up the predator version mag well here soon

I have this rifle in 450 bushmaster. When loading the magazine the shell catches the lip on the case every round after the first . When your ejecting a shot case the design of the catches the lip on the case stopping it . The only way it will work is if you really put force on it . When you do that it bends the brass messing it up for reloading. Rifle shoots decently accurate and has a ok trigger but no way ruger didn’t see the issue of the 450 messing up the brass . Very disappointed

Not only has the Ruger American been out for quite awhile longer than the Mossberg Patriot, they designed this rifle to compete with Savage, which is why they went with a hammer forged 5r barrel, 3 lug bolt and AI mags. That brake doesn't make the gun much louder, very minimal, cause it's a hybrid brake. The camo scheme looks more like a copy off a Howa rifle. I think Savage has a rifle that's a Mossberg camo, but doesn't matter, Mossberg rifles are junk.

How do you remove the stock to get to the trigger for adjustments. The AI mag release covers the takedown screw. How to remove the AI mag release?
@macgyver5108
5 жыл бұрын
In the box, it comes with a random looking piece of plastic that slips over the mag latch to support the mag release. Slide that on over the mag release latch and drift out the pin that holds the mag latch in carefully with an appropriate sized punch, or lightly tap it out with a drill bit the same size if you don't have a punch. Once that's out the mag latch will come off and you can access the rear action screw. When you put the action screws back in make SURE to torque them down to 60-80 INCH lbs (not FOOT!) or you may have accuracy issues. I've had best results with 60" lbs of torque for accuracy...

@@97footballplayerI've got a Ruger Predator and it shoots lights out .3 MOA with 143 ELD-X and .5 MOA with everything else I've shot. The cerakote finish alone is definitely worth the price! MUCH more rugged finish! The regular Ruger American black nitrite finish can have minor surface rust if you don't wax them. The AI magazine feeds flawlessly and spare mags are readily available, and the factory brake makes it so you can spot your own impacts. I'd recommend electronic hearing protection though for hunting if you like your hearing...

@@macgyver5108 Thank you for getting back to me. I've been looking at the GO WILD model. It seems pretty similar to a predator model. Honestly, I'm not too certain what the difference is. Nice to hear about the shooting. I am at a point where I want to build up a nice easy 600 yrs gun. I'm thinking of the predator or GO wild model chamber in 30.06 with a sub $1k scope on it. I'm ok going over board on the scope because typically, I'm a buy once cry once type guy. And if I spend 1k on a high quality scope, I'll never be wanting for another one for any other long range type gun. Although I intend to one have one long range rifle.
