They look amazing . I love a max cushion shoe for daily use, not even running. After walking in my Clifton 9's I just can't walk around in anything less then a max cushion anymore. I'll be getting these in all white just to walk in on a daily basis.

Great review. Not sure what is more exciting: a wider midsole stability for this new Triumph (my go to is the Guide), or getting to run in the same race as you this Saturday (and watch you running off into the distance in real life)?! Would be interested to know your shoe of choice for the upcoming Serpent 50K?

I really like the fit of Saucony uppers. Unfortunately I don't get along well with most neutral shoes. Big fan of the guide. Looking forward to trying the tempus when I can find one. It is a little sad to see Saucony joining the trend of very wide midfoot. That's something I like about my guide 16, even with the fairly obvious medial post, it's still feels nimble and snappy. It seems that puma has gone the other direction lol. They really cinched in the midfoot. I picked up some foreverruns and midfoot is surprisingly narrow especially for a stability shoe. And their pro-level shoes the fast R eliminates the midfoot entirely. Definitely Gene Roddenberry inspired.

Loyd, I’m 47, started running 2.5 years ago, ran my first 100km in May this year (London to Brighton 16.5 hours) and I’ve run 1000 miles this year. I’m thinking of signing up for SDW 100 2025. Would you say I’d be able to give it a realistic shot?

The fabric on the upper looks very similar to the Asics Gel Nimbus 25 which would explain the reduction in breathability.

I would switch from my More V4 to the Triumph cause i love pwr pb but i can not accept the 10mm drop 😩
@Run4Adventure

I do prefer a lower heel height as well, something around a 4-6mm off set. To be fair, the Triumph 22 didn’t run like a 10mm shoe, the heel wasn’t to dominant 👍

it looks like the upcoming hurricane 24 is pretty similar to the triumph but with a 6mm drop. People seem to like it even though it has regular pwrun in the bottom

Shoulda continued on w/ the Triumph 21 formula, and call the 22 the Triumph Max. WHY discontinue a shoe soooooo many loved???????????????????????????????
@Run4Adventure
28 күн бұрын
I agree, the 21 was a more enjoyable show to run in. If running shoe brands didn’t update shoes and try out new materials and innovations, Saucony would have never produced the Triumph 21! We’d still be running in the original Triumph and that wasn’t a great shoe 🤔
@filoIII

@@Run4Adventure When something's a huge success, you don't get rid of it. Triumph Max shoulda been a different shoe than the 20/21, but the 22 would be a slight mod of those.

Thumbs down sadly. This is one of the more positive reviews I've seen one the 22 Loyd. The drop and midsole seems to suit the bit heavier heel strike runner the best. And the very wide platform just makes the shoe too chunky. Personally I really like the v.20/21 and will be running in them instead of the 22

Agree. I’m still using Triumph 20s for some long runs. Also think there are better options for less money
