This video to demonstrate how we can simple but featured Gant Chart in Microsoft Excel, there maybe several ways, but I am preferring;
1) Conditional Formatting
2) Graph tole
Without doubt Primavera is an excellent tole for scheduling but sometimes it does not provide complete flexibility and control to show the Gant chart we wants or as requested by Client/Management
During the progress meeting, it is numerously requested by the Client to present Critical activities as per current situation, describing the delays etc..., which is difficult in Primavera without changes the links/logic but the same can be performed very easily in excel
Primaveral layout contains excessive information which hindering the readers and most of the time our audiences and readers are not fully familiar with the Primavera which cause them to be in doubt, whereas excel is the friendly tole which is used by most of the computer users.
Excel offers best commands as
1) Find & Replace
2) CTRL + D (to copy data from previous cells with same format
3) Date format (long, short, etc
4) Conditional formatting to express bars
5) IF functions
6) Workday Function
In this video I tried to explain how can we generate dynamic Gant chart which adjust the project timeline, calculates the Schedule % complete and update the Gant chart automatically. It shows how we can improve the clear visibility by directing focusing on the required information.
The printout command is used to adjust the page layout, mention the Title, data date, page number etc. for the easy tracking of the document
