For some silly reason I thought about this song tonight for the first time in over 30 years and had to find it. It made me think of my ex-wife, Julie, and I cried like a baby. This great song brought back some wonderful memories. Stupid, huh? And it made me think of an old watering hole in Bettendorf, Iowa, called The Maverick Lounge. There was a band that played there named The Herold White Band that did a version of this song too.

+John Hinckley : Funny thing is, this is exactly what happened to me tonite. A Gary Morris story came up on my Facebook page.....after all these yrs......I've been rooted to this spot, listening to every one of Gary's videos, crying my eyes out....so you're not to feel silly at all. My recordings are cassettes, so that can tell you how long I've been his fan.

It's not silly at all John Hinckley, many of us probably cried over a lost love that somehow went bad. We have to learn to get over it if we want to heal. I found a better love than the one I lost, my wife of 21 years understands me unlike my first one. There were children involved in my first love and that increased the pain, but I asked GOD to help me and HE did.

@Redwingstudios1 Yes, you are right. Morris took a break from touring to pursue a serious acting career. One of his first big roles was in the Broadway production of Les Misérables, as Jean Valjean. Morris has also appeared in a production of Puccini's opera La Boheme with another fellow Country/Pop singer Linda Ronstadt. Gary Morris spends much time at his fly-fishing/hunting resort Mountain Spirit Lodge in southern Colorado.

The Love She Found in Me was a song written by an unknown, unnamed man. It was stolen from the original writer and sold to Gary Morris. The original writer has the papers from when he wrote this song.

Dennis Linde wrote a ton of hits - is credited as the songwriter along with Bob Morrison - who also wrote a lot of hits. Additionally - Michael Johnson recorded the song first - in 1981 - at least two years before Morris recorded it. Anyway - Morris sings the heck out of it.
