I have been working I might Easy Go cart a 96 for a electrical problem for a month and a half and I give it to a garage that works on them and they kept it two weeks and said they didn't know what the problem was it would take a lot longer I just think that the E-Z-Go golf cart is a piece of junk and that's all I can say because there are so many people that have electrical problems with the easy go cart about a firing issue and running it is unbelievable why doesn't the manufacturer come back and post a pamphlet or something and say this is the problem they don't want to do anything they just want to put out the thing and sell the parts which most of the parts come from overseas anyway duplicates

They can be a pain to figure out most of what I’ve seen is bad grounds or broken wires, one you get it fixed I hope it works well for you!

I had basically the same problem you could get it to turn over but it wouldn't release the starter part of the generator so the motor would run unless you tapped the solenoid I mean you could just touch it barely with your finger and then it would run fine or do fine it ended up being the where the solenoid was grounded was to the frame and it was kind of rusty that's just say I cleaned the spot off ran an extra ground to a good spot on the frame and it's still running perfect not sure if that's your problem but that's where I would start a main ground

Yeah, there's a reaction that goes on between the brass and the zinc on the eye terminals. Usually doesn't corrode if it's good and tight. But everyone knows when terminals constantly heat up and cool down, they expand and contract. So once a year when you are servicing your cart, check all the cables and connections to make sure they're still tight. Just old man talk. Hth

So I'm looking at one similar and don't know much about golf carts but was wondering, especially by the way you explained how it's wired from pedal switch to solenoid, that means the starter and solenoid stay energized the whole time the pedal is depressed? Seems odd how that wouldn't affect the charging side of it but again idk.

How did you know the switch was bad?
@UncleMike1776
2 жыл бұрын
If you’re referring to the key switch, it wouldn’t turn the lights one, when you would turn the key to the lights nothing would happen and it was completing the circuit. And the key was hard to turn, and sometimes you’d have to jimmy it to get it to let you drive it!

When I press pedal on mine it want turn over or do anything I changed the silonoid today bc it would start if I shorted the old one out but replaced with a new one today and it’s still doing the same thing. Any ideas what it could be?

Hey I was wondering I have that same golf cart I need help with wiring is there a way you could help me just need to know which wires go where for the starting system if u can
@UncleMike1776

There is a solenoid basically right under where the driver would sit on the forward edge. The wires go from the battery to the solenoid solenoid to the starter the signal to open the solenoid goes to the foot switch on the pedal, along with a signal wire from the key.

Not with this motor this motor the stater generator system, the starter is commenced by the pedal being depressed once the motor is running the starter generator continues to spin and the generator replenishes the battery
