Just a point of clarification. My understanding is that a given segment of dna can code for multiple proteins. An intron for one type of protein may in fact be an exon for another protein type. So in one instance an intron may be a throwaway piece of code but may be required in a different instance.

Although TATAbox is located 25/35 bp upstream of the transcription start site (not 40 bp as you said in this lecture), you're great at teaching, nice and useful videos to review some topics before an exam ;)
