On one more anniversary of Gene Vincent's birthday (October 11, 1935) I am here playing tribute to the Bad Boy of Rock and Roll, listening and enjoying his music. Gone, but not forgotten !

First heard this on an Ian Whitcomb compilation of different acts. One of my favorite Gene tunes. I use to play it with my band The Carolinas.

This guy had a unique and original style especially his timing. It was as though he was going to miss the beat but he never did. He was also rippled off by promoters - nearly as sad a story as Bad Finger.

Hot rocking band… great sax playing… Gene was a true original, I feel he’s long been somewhat overlooked by R&R historians.

@@kelechi_77 just your personal taste. As musicians both could not reach Elvis in any department. I would put even Eddie Cochran above Johnny Burnette not to mentione Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Larry Williams, Bo Diddley, the Everlys, Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Lloyd Price and many others. He did some very good recordings with the so-called Rock & Roll Trio (but on all outstanding recordings of the sessions under that name we are hearing not Johnny and his band with Dorsey and Paul Burleson but Guitarist Grady Martin + studio-musicians). At least Gene Vincent's Band the Blue Caps actually recorded with him. Plus Gene could sing unlike Johnnie B..
