I think everyone likes Charlie's action game videos the best. I love his gameplay analyses. Charlie has been trying to do survival horror games more and I don't like saying stuff like this but I feel like his potential is wasted there. In Survival horror the gameplay is just less dense. It has to be in ordered to be scary because gameplay to complex would divorce you from the immersion and make the game less scary. This is why Devil May Cry 1 had to be it's one game and couldn't just be Resident Evil 4 like planned.

Man, this was a favorite of mine when I was little, and it's a tragedy to see how few people cover it considering how fun and well made it is, the combat is solid, the levels are atmospheric and it has a neat (although not that deep) new game + allowing you to grab a bunch of extra stuff and try your luck against a survival mode; The only thing I will highly disagree is that Benkei the second character is boring (I might be alone on this) when at least in my opinion he is way more fun to play then yoshitsune, for 2 specific reasons, his big brute style is a blast when you know how to properly use his charge attacks and guard break, and second is that different from yoshitsune he's the only one with 2 different weapon types that change his move set those being spears and staffs, the staffs (or clubs I guess) use the charge mechanic while the spears are faster and allow for more sweeping moves, especially in the air... and of course he's a beautiful big boy and that's always a plus 😅

I played Genji first and I love this short gem of a game. After playing Onimusha though I have to say that I overall like that series better. But then again, Onimusha got time to grow and evolve while Genji only got one sequel which I didn't get the chance to play as I have never owned a PS3. I play games from this era very thorough as they aren't as long and stall time and progression like modern AAA games, so I got around 12 hours out of my first playtrough. Roughly the same as Onismuha Warords. But I know that the game is very short and can be compled in around 5 hrs. The story and characters is nothing to write home about. Its all very simplistic. But the artstyle and atmosphere of the game sells it for me. My only gripe with this game was that it ended a bit abruptly and I wish it could have lasted a little longer as it feels like the story is just getting momentum near the end.

So this makes it now 3 people I've known who talked about this game. The 1st was Morgan Webb from X play back when they used to be good and they gave this game a four out of five due to the game being so short and there is a lot of Onimusha similarities(though thanks to this video, I now know why the similarities are so strong), another guy who talked about it a few years after and now this video. If you can find it somewhere it's a great way to kill 6 hours and at least it's still better than the 2nd game.
