he was actually more of a humorous philosopher than a mere comedian.

It's amazing how much simpler your life becomes when you stop giving a shit about things that don't really matter. I used to be constantly worried about what others thought of me and then Carlin came along and changed all that.

People get worked up over the pettiest, most insignificant details. I did it and I still do it, but far less than I used to. George Carlin was one of the biggest influences in helping me understand that most things in life aren't worth clinging to. Find the few things that are truly worthwhile and screw everything else. Thank you, George, for teaching me that lesson.

Unfortunately most people spend their whole life trying to stay on that safe middle class path and try to please everyone, themselves, family, parents, neighbors, coworkers. have to get married, have kids, have a big house, have the nice car, maintain a particular image that satisfies the people around you. thankfully carlin realized, not too late, that is a crap way of life. Be real.

Time is being kind to him and I’m glad to see it. People look at his whole body of work now and go “wow, he’s brilliant” while the rest of us have been saying that for decades . His voice will continue to be some Professor Emeritus from the stars telling us all what we should be doing instead of the bullshit we waste our precious lives on. It’s been ten years but I still feel his loss. Thank you George .
