For some things, Cryotherapy is the only option, but for many things you're often best using it in conjunction with other things - like Heat Therapy, Physical Therapy, and of course, the foam roller.
Your health/situation is what will dictate which are best, and the foam roller may not always help your particular situation, but it's good to know when it is useful.
