I've been cutting my own out since I was probably 12. I never realized how far back the nail goes, so I understand WHY they keep coming back. Anyway, if you ever have a nail that burrows under the skin, where you have to dig through fresh skin to get to it, those hurt like hell. And you can bleed a lot doing this.

utterly disgusting and yet extremely interesting!!! I keep getting ingrown toenails on my big toes and I keep cutting them on the side to remove them. Is this OK or should I go see a podiatrist??
@beepbeeplettuce2137

If you keep cutting the sides, the skin around it will eventually get used to it and stay like that and then you will have to get the skin cut off

Wouldn't the newly grown toenail cover the nails that are left, and create two layers of toenails? Or because the doctor had killed the root, so the soft tissues beside the toe will eventually close up? Really hope someone would be generous enough to answer me...

You never ever want to cut of the circulation to any wound or infections. That's like a huge no no
@RichardEby
8 жыл бұрын
+DoomGames The circulation is cut off for a few minutes so that the chemical (phenol) can cauterize or kill the root. If you do not do this, the blood will dilute and wash out the chemical before it can work. Blood returns very quickly as soon as the tourniquet is removed.

usually there is some tenderness, but the toe is typically so PAINFUL before this is done, that it almost always feels better as soon as the ingrown nail is removed. Thanks for your comment Amber Dean

Heeey here's your letter well the way i do mine, it all depends what im placing my tofu with. If asian i drain my tofu then marinate it in soy sauce with some chili pepper flakes for about a day, then fry it in a pan with some pepper, sea salt, chives, green onions with a bit of apple cider vinegar. If i just want to whip up some fried tofu i just drain it then crumble it into a pan with some olive or coconut oil then add some onion powder, salt and pepper. Fried it till u see some real nice brown color to it. Overall tofu is awesome to play with.

+ITZ_C4M Don't worry, I've had this done 4 times and I'm only 15. It isn't that bad, especially if you don't look at it. It will only hurt about 20 seconds after they inject the anaesthetic (numbing medicine) and after that, you shouldn't feel much. And it's only really the first anaesthetic shot which hurts, after that you're golden :)
@theplaingamer1

+ITZ_C4M I had one cut out when I was 11 (now 12) and trust me, after the shots (the shots sting, im not gonna lie..) it feels like someones pulling on your toe. Thats it. And I have another one and im going in in a few days to get it removed. Trust me, you want to get it removed.. Trust me..
@angrykidplayswot9875

kennan conway I totally agree. I have had 4 done (2 on each big toe) and the only part which hurts is the first shot (maybe first 2 if you're unlucky). They only sting/burn for 20-30sec then you're perfectly fine. And under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you try to 'be a man' and say you don't feel anything if you do actually feel something. this will cause extreme pain (once I had the surgery and since the area was so swollen the anaesthesia didn't work fully so my toe was only partially numb, they just had to continues the operation as they reached the limit my body could tolerate, IT WAS SO PAINFUL)

@RichardEby
6 жыл бұрын
there is no mask needed for this procedure. It is acisional, meaning there is No incision. Sterile gloves and instruments are required. I have done this procedure for 35 years and have seen it done by many other physicians, and in the vast majority of case they do not wear gloves. Some nail procedures do require an incision and then a mask and gown are needed
