This series just encourages people to do the "little" things around the house. Thanks! 😊❤👍

A few months ago I made a list of all those little jobs. On the list were things like changing burned out light bulbs that needed a ladder, filling nail holes in window frames, moving shelving, putting up a new shower curtain. There were over 20 things on the list. I had estimated the time for each on my list. It was over 10 hours, so I allotted 3 days. I completed everything in under THREE hours. Why do we always think it is going to take so long??? Thank you for taking us along on these videos as you get the little things done!

This is a wonderful series, Sophia. When you mentioned that if you do 1 small project a year that is 52 small projects completed. It was like a light bulb came on and made me realize that these undone things are taking up too much space and energy in my mind. I am determined to get started

The magic eraser does a light sand job. I take wood blocks and paint to match floor and put between wall and chair leg. Stops chair form sliding back, do it with sofa too. Also, can buy rubber feet that go over chair legs that stop from sliding too. You can skim coat the popcorn ceiling, otherwise you have to sand it once painted. It is one job you may want to hire someone for especially with paint.

Small jobs make big impacts. Just saying. I am doing my back small porch. Which got bad because someone passed, and I did not ever have the get up and get her done. So now it is painted the house wall, the floor, pressure washed, and the two screens replaced in two panels. Tore out at bottom because of hurricanes. Now to wash furniture and cushions. Repot plants and put it all back. Ordered new glider on sale 300 for 149. including a patio coffee table. Tomorrow am patching the wall where my little dog pretends, he is a termite in the house and painting it. Two base board corners to patch with wood putty and paint. Have to wait until end Oct. to paint front door and patio doors to hot out for Fl. will have to leave door open. Started watching you again and am getting motivated by you. Thank you so much.

No joke about it, home maintenance really is never ending. Loving this series. I find if I touch up paint if I use a roller it blends where a brush mark may show as a brush mark. I may use a brush for the spots but then lightly roll over it with a paint roller. Before doing anything with the ceiling I would have it checked for asbestos just to be safe.

I find painting relaxing, but at 74 I have to do a wall a day. I'm a very neat painter so no drop cloths required, but I do mask off areas that I want to have a razor-sharp edge. After I finish what I can I wrap my roller in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer, so I don't have to wash it before I go to the next wall. I do wash my brushes at the end of the day, but for lunch breaks I just wrap in it wet paper towels and place it in a plastic bag. I need to buy some paint to do touchups, it's on my to do list. 😏

@@mrsgingernoisette I live in Arizona, it only takes a few minutes for the frozen roller to get soft, if you live where it's cooler just take the roller out 20 minutes before you start painting. :)

I don't know where I learned that trick, but it is a great one. Roller in a zip-lock back in the freezer. :-) Even in Connecticut, they thaw out quickly.

Great job all those little jobs make such a big difference. Best to wait until you can have someone come in and skim the ceiling, popcorn is a nightmare can bring down parts of the ceiling if it has been put on because it was a damaged ceiling.

I even painted the exterior of our previous house myself, it took me months but I did it! I will hire someone to do exterior of this house eventually, it way to large and high fir me to do it. The interior needs painted to but I’ll do it bit by bit or pay my sister to help me. In the meantime I’ll do touch up like you are doing. You got a lot done kudos!! 😘
