The *SOLE* reason I'm watching this is to hear Kid Congo Powers. I think he's the only really witty and sensible person in the whole film. Powers is charming, but I don't think any of the other guys are.

He must be *V i n c e P r i c e* 's son. At least he's the only one that admits they couldn't play a minor chord the way they tuned up … 15:00 That's *John Doe* of *X* . Produced by *Henry Rollins* ( aka *SWINGIN MAN* )…

It was the guitar that Kid brought that won me over immediately. It wasn’t typical. I was hooked. It dropped a seed in me that later brought me to my own cowpunk band. I didn’t play slide but wrote my own version of twang with many influences. Like they did with swampy hillbilly blues.

Ward Dotson is a nobody. Who cares whether he got along with Jeffrey? It's almost like a documentary on Muhammed Ali getting hung up on some side character no one ever remembers, however important that character felt to himself. Bottom line: without Jeffrey Lee Pierce, there would have been no Gun Club.

He's still part of the story and formed The Pontiac Brothers - two great albums in Doll Hut and Fiesta En La Biblioteca. It's fascinating from all former band members.

Love Dotson's slide guitar but he seems bitter over what was just a personality clash with a genius, maybe a bit've envy, power struggle. He did admit 'We kind of needed Jeffrey, as much as we hated him' & (talking about the 'Miami' album cover)- 'Jeff had a massive ego, everyone knows that. He also did most of the work & all of the hustling; he can be out front.' - & JLP was the Gun Club..

hes not a "nobody"...that Early Warning live 82, the band is killin' it. a band is just that, a bunch of people who believe in a single "thing". maybe you worship Jeffrey...but Ward was 1/4 of that era

ward was right, too. jeffrey was making bad decisions, self destructing...becoming a total fuckup. he was the common sense that jlp didnt think was necessary. they could have been more appreciated during their existence. so maybe youre a fanboy/girl of jefffreys, but listening to Fire of Love and the subsequent us tour--they were instantly on the cusp...over doing booze and smack has never improved creative power...like him, or not. ok, im done.

@@DaveAnchovies Okay, "nobody" is probably overstating it, but without Jeffrey and his blues-punk-reggae-pop sensibility, there would never have been a Gun Club. Ward and others would still have found productive work elsewhere, likely in some decent rock band. But without Jeffrey, the unique sound we associate with the Gun Club could never have happened. I don't think I'm a "fanboy," as you put it, certainly not of JLP, but I do recognize his essential contributions to a band I think has been left by the wayside critically.
