A wonderful man. I once wrote him an email asking him to call me and leave his Bela Lugosi impression on my answering machine. Weeks went by and one morning, Halloween, I came downstairs, saw I had a voice message, and it was Gilbert! To think, he waited until that particular day to make me happy! I'll really miss this extremely funny man.

Comedians are very thoughtful individuals. I have a friend that sent Doug Stanhope a message on Twitter, saying how much of a fan he is and that he was going through a hard time. Doug responded with “What’s your number?”. So he sent Doug his number and was called almost immediately. They spoke for a good 2 hours about everything. Pretty cool shit.

@@KairuHakubi what! No!, I don't at all, of it was a contest both Jim Cummings and Frank Welker would lose to billy Those guys are a dime a dozen, Billy not only played for huge music acts and murdered with comedy heavy hitters on stern but he literally got the mel Blanc gig and maintained it for a couple decades There is something to be said about that, it surpasses doing Scooby Doo's most boring voices or even Billy's achievements doing like every voice on Nickelodeon in the early 90s It may not be a contest but if it were it would go mel Blanc Billy west than everyone else.... And I'd go as far as to say I get why MacFarlane or Matt and Trey are more popular or considered more talented, but as far as voice acting is say Billy has through sheer hard work and talent earned the right to be discussed in the same sentence as mel ...
