Unimogs were/are the favorite in the maintenace of rural/mountain electrical towers by Electrical companies. The mountain trails are narrow and steep with poor maintenance, I tried with a modern 4x4 and had a very hard time going up. Another time with a 1950's stock jeep, it went up put-puting whithout a problem the same trail

I like the cars, especially the mog (drive those myself), but you should never ever carry live animals or people in the back while on a trail. What if you tip it over, or if the spare tire strap breaks or the tire shifts out from under it, that's 120kg projectile.

Thanks. I've carried many troops along many trails. He's probably as likely to get struck by lightning while at home walking out in the yard to pee on a tree. Animals and people are carried in vehicles on roads where they're more likely to have a head on with a bad, drunk or sleeping driver. The tyre is the spare for the trailer. About 20kg. Definitely won't brake the strap. But I appreciate the concern and glad you enjoyed the vid. More off-road action coming soon.

Grills are interchangeable so, in service, they would have been swapped out when damaged etc.

What brand are those tyres and they are 14.00R20 right? They look like they can be beat on pretty hard.

I really appreciated the help. Yeah someone had to try it. So many mog owners had been wondering. I've got a couple mods underway and then I'll get back there at some point for another rip.

What's the width of a 1300? Plus it's depend what wheel/tyre setup was on it. 2300mm sidewall to sidewall would probably fit through ok. So a 1700 still on ADF wheels and tires would probably squeeze through. Mine's around 2480 sidewall to sidewall, so yeah nah.
@andrefischer5025

@@TruBluOffroad oh those are some interesting numbers…. Mine is 2280 sidewall to sidewall and “only” 5550 bumper to bumper Tyres are 365/80/R20 XZL on stock 6 stud rim

Bwah ha ha ha. Looks like the Jeep won. Nice try though unfortunate of the damage. You should use that truck for something positive. Hauling supplies to back country regions though snow, or jungles, or something.

Scotty collects large amounts of rubbish from the bush and disposes of it at his own expense. Old burnt out cars etc. He does this stuff on the side to demonstrate the ability of the most capable off-road truck in the world and to educate the community.

Mate these videos are getting better and better. Question though. With these beadlocked rims - and the weight of the truck - whats pressure do you normally run these at offroad and how low can you actually take them if needed?
@TruBluOffroad
Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. I run anything between 40-80psi on road, depending what I'm carrying. Off-road I find 18-25psi depending what I'm doing. I could go to zero but the tyres would just fold and flop around. I haven't really tested how low I could go effectively but I'd guess around 5psi would float me out of extreme soft situations.
