Manufactured in kit form by Superlite Cars of Detroit, Michigan, this 2015 Superlite SLC is the superb result of that company’s deep racing background, from amateur level to Le Mans. In fact, Superlite has raced its own SLC in the National Auto Sport Association, winning the 2011 National Championship in the elite Super Unlimited class in its first year of competition. In other words, the SLC is as close as virtually anything to a racing car for the street, a fact proven not only in its advanced materials and construction, but in its searing performance. Featured in the Spring 2018 issue of “ReinCarNation Magazine,” this SLC began life as an all-aluminum TIG-welded semi-monocoque chassis with a 6-point roll cage, designed with exceptional torsional rigidity exceeding that of such exotics as the Ford GT and Ferrari’s F458. Its custom billet suspension was carefully crafted and produced with advanced manufacturing technology, including computer-controlled laser jets, water jets and Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machining. The strong and lightweight fiberglass body shell was modeled for optimum aerodynamic properties using the same advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling tools employed by McLaren International. Both the powertrain and options chosen for this SLC reflect its intended use as a dual-purpose street-and-track car. A Chevrolet Performance LS3 376/480 HP crate engine provides immediate yet tractable power, ease of maintenance and long-term reliability. It is backed by a sturdy Audi/Lamborghini Graziano 6-speed transaxle with limited-slip differential. For street-use practicality, the car was optioned with a street tail, side-impact bars, parking-brake kit, a RamLift Pro hydraulic front lift kit, fiberglass interior panels, Vintage Air and adjustable pedals. Adjustable QA1 coilover shocks are present at all four corners, and the SLC rides on Nitto Invo 275/35ZR18 front and 325/30ZR19 rear tires on Forgestar F14 18x10 front and 19x12 rear wheels. A professionally installed Aquamarine Oracal 970 premium shift-effect vinyl wrap completes this uniquely sensational automobile.
