Infinite is known for being one of the first groups to focus on making their choreography hyper synchronized and they have been coined with the phrase "knife-like synchronization." Infinite -- along with SHINee -- is one of the groups that is credited with changing the focus of dancing within the Kpop industry. If it wasn't for SHINee and Infinite, upping the game and showing everyone that it was possible to have sharp synchronized dance moves while singing live and being able to pull it off flawlessly, the industry would probably be a lot different today. Not only is Infinite known for their dancing, but they are also a vocal powerhouse group that, like SHINee, sings live while dancing these intense choreos. Fun fact: Woohyun who is a member of Infinite is good friends with SHINee's Key and together they formed the industry's very first project group that had members from different companies, called ToHeart in 2014. (ToHeart has a couple of MVs and a mini album.) Infinite is also known for their unique sound and style and how most of their songs include rock and/or brass and classical string instruments as part of their signature orchestral sound. It's said that you can tell it's an Infinite song just by the sound and style of the song within the first few seconds because Infinite songs are different than all other Kpop songs. There is always an element of the sound of their songs that makes them stand out. However, "New Emotions" has a sound unlike anything they have done in the past. Although the members said they were nervous to try something new, that is unlike what they are most known for, I think it also helps to establish their fresh start as newly independent artists who are free to decide their own path from here on out. Although with their b-side songs you will hear more of their signature style and sound, so they still stay true to what makes them uniquely Infinite. Infinite originally was a Woollim Entertainment group that debuted in 2010 -- 2 years after SHINee -- so this year is their 13th anniversary. They were originally a 7 member group. However, as you have seen, they now have 6 members. (Hoya, who was their main dancer and considered one of the top dancers in Kpop, as well as a lead vocalist and rapper, left Infinite in 2017, and now he's a solo artist/dancer, etc.) As you just saw Infinite has finally made a comeback after 5 years, after all the members have completed their military duties and they have now established their own company. "New Emotions" is their first comeback after becoming independent. Sungkyu who is a main vocalist, is the leader of the group. He was the first of the members to debut solo back in 2012 and he is also a musical stage actor. Infinite's main rapper, main dancer and lead vocalist, is DongWoo. He is also a musical stage actor and a songwriter and solo artist. L (Kim Myungsoo) is a lead vocalist. In the past he was most often the main character in Infinite's story-based MVs because he is one of the top Idol actors who has been in numerous K-dramas and movies. L is really good at showing emotion and immersing himself into every role he plays to make you believe his every emotion is exactly how he really feels and everything that happens to him is real. He is one of my favorite K-drama actors. Nam Woohyun is a main vocalist and the one that usually has the powerful vocals in Infinite's songs. He is also a solo artist and an actor in K-dramas, movies and musicals. Sungyeol is a lead vocalist. He has also been an actor in dramas since before debuting with Infinite. The member who often stands out with his pretty voice is SungJong, who is the maknae. He is known for his delicate features and his unique voice. (He is recognized for his high melodic vocal ability and dynamic range, similar to Jun from Seventeen.) He just debuted as a solo artist earlier this year, as well. Infinite fans are called Inspirits.

This very different from what they've tried before, they told in some interviews that while they were nervous to try a more trendy/new sound, two members actually didn't want New Emotions as the title song, but in the end they decided to give it a go since they are basically starting anew so it seemed appropiate. Their b-side songs (3 more) do have a lot of "infinite old sound" and it's nice. As they said, they've been working hard to offer something new while trying to retain their roots. I'm glad they are back! It is always nice to see second generation groups come back nowadays and see them playing with the new trendy sounds in kpop and how they find ways to make it theirs.

@@Killdeer25 Not only that! This comeback is theirs from start to end. They established their own company to produce their album and manage group (OT6) schedules. Sunggyu, who is the leader, actually invested a lot of his own money into the making of this album and they all decided every single detail by voting. They are also going on tour and there is a lot of themselves invested in the company and everything coming out of it. I'm really proud of them and how they set this up. It's their 13th year since debut and their first comeback in around 5-6 years and they've truly delivered! I know you reacted to their killing voice but they've been doing the medley LIVE!!! @@Killdeer25 Sadly, on the first round of contrac renewal back in 2017 one member decided to leave the group and he is currently doing his own thing, that left 6 members under Woollim and they worked hard to keep INFINITE. They've been very vocal over the years that they are INFINITE, they will protect the brand until the end and particularly one member, Myungsoo who is active as an actor, got so mad every now and then because people around him asked if INFINITE disbanded as they eventually all moved out of Woollim and signed with different labels, he wanted to speak up but decided to wait and show them that INFINITE was still going and that was through this comeback! Many people has thought they are a brand new group as well haha, it's not only you. Mostly because they used newer kpop sounds, and Inspirit (the fandom) joked about it as well. I do hope you enjoy their Killing Voice, it was nice and was trending in South Korean when released! Nice! Although this doesn't beat classic INFINITE, this is a fine introduction to the group. The chorus is the real highlight of the track. Too bad the song's short. But once you discover more INFINITE tracks, you'll find their older releases are one of the main highlights of K-pop. I'm not sure if I mentioned their main sound, but I'll say it here - their older singles are primarily 80s-inspired with impeccable choruses (One of their songs has a Bee Gees-like chorus). So hopefully that description got you intrigued!

Thanks for your reaction 😊 INFINITE is a veteran group of 13years, so theres a lot music to discover from them 😉 Sound wise, they're part of a small side of kpop, which have a more experimental, ambient, dramatic sound. Which makes them unique in the kpop style. More instrumential, more eletronic. They have both upbeat and more quiet songs. Some of INFINITE's more popular songs, that I can recommend is; 'Be mine' (this song is litteraly a kpop classic, which has been covered several times). 'The eye' 'Last Romeo' 'The chaser' 'Back' (my personal favorite from them 😊) 'Bad' 'Paradise' And then theres their debut song, 'Come back again'. If you're interested in further exploration of this side of kpop, here's some other very recommendable groups, with similar sound; BEAST VIXX B.A.P (this group is a personal favorite, litterally love all their songs 😊 'One shot' is probably their most known song. I'm a rock girl and this group has a strong rock sound 😉) Nu'est BTOB PENTAGON ONEUS KINGDOM E'Last The two groups BLOCK B and BIGBANG has some of it too, despite them mainly going with the hiphop style, but its 2nd generation hiphop, which is a whole unique sound on their own 😉 Both groups has had and is an important part in the kpop industry, having released epic songs. A thing to take note of, with most of these groups, is that their MV's isn't just them dancing randomly, but they do ACTUAL acting. Most MV's of these groups are like small movies, heavy on the storytelling. Like, B.A.P's 'One shot' is litterally a 7min long action movie, mixed into the song, between the dancing and looking cool Or BLOCK B's "Nillili mambo" which is a story of a group of theifs and hustlers on the run 😉

I was excited to see Infinite is today's pick! They are one of many groups I've heard about and been meaning to get to because a member is an actor I liked. Ironically today, I couldn't pick him out in the video so I googled and he left the group several years ago. 🤷 I guess it doesn't matter though because I loved the song anyway! So fun! Very much looking forward to more Infinite. Off topic but exciting, Chen is releasing his first Japanese solo album very soon and they started pre-releasing songs today on streaming services. Looks like they will release a song every few days until the album and mv drop on Aug 17. I was listening to the first pre-release on loop today. It's amazing! And in NCT news, SM has started its new audition show, Lastart (Last Start) to create the final NCT subunit NCT Tokyo. Not gonna lie, I was not excited about it because SM already teased a sub-unit in January with two existing NCT members who debuted three years ago(!) and still hadn't been placed in a sub-unit as well as three SM Rookies they introduced us to in a reality show and got us all attached to and then, like two months later, they announced the two existing members plus rookies would not debut in NCT at all(!) but would be given their own separate boy group sometime this year (please God). And instead they would be doing this audition show for NCT Tokyo with all new, unseen SM trainees. So I was heart-broken for Seungchan and Shotaro who worked their asses off in NCT for 3 years without ever getting a fixed unit and then got dumped. Not super hyped about a bunch of unknowns just so that SM could pull a Baby Monster. However, today I saw this clip of the reality show and now I am excited for NCT Tokyo, if this is the caliber of trainees that are competing. Also the judges all seem to be SM artists so that's super fun too. I'm off to watch the first episodes now. kzitem.info/news/bejne/kamJyZdnpmeqg5w
