Finally! They had a live (and livestream) concert last month and as soon as a heard the intro of this song I just went crazy, their live performances are so cool!! I recommend you Paradise (my fav song from them) and their japanese release Dilemma, really great songs. I would like to see you react to a group called VIXX, the songs Fantasy, Scentist and Error. They are known for their unique concepts, and people call them concept kings, they were one of the firsts (if not the first) in kpop to bring a wide range of them for MVs and live performances! Thanks for the reaction, really enjoyed 🙌🏽

Thank you for this! Though certainly not well known among gen 4 fans (who make up the vast majority of modern kpop fans), they were highly renowned for nearly a decade before going away for their military service, and the group has been consistently excellent all this time! If there's ever a group that makes you feel just totally content and fulfilled, it's Infinite -- perhaps oddly so, given that many of their songs are about desperation and not wanting things to end XD

Infinite was one of the top groups of the 2010s and had many, many hits. They held successful international concert tours and played many arenas and stadiums. Unfortunately, they lost a lot of momentum once the members had to start their mandatory military enlistment periods, because they were from a very small label, and the label chose to focus more of their newer artists than on maintaining Infinite's popularity through their military hiatus. This is not so much a problem if your group is from one of the major labels since they have a lot of resources to support all their artists better, but artists from small companies really suffer for it. Because Infinite was inactive from spring 2018 until this summer, many newer Kpop fans do not really know about them (this is the period when Kpop started to gain much more mainstream popularity outside of East/Southeast Asia). Thankfully they formed their own agency early this year and, in support of their new album, have been selling out large concerts both in Korea and other Asian countries.

This is one of the songs that anyone who's interested in Kpop should absolutely know. Kpop canon, I suppose you could call it. It fits in there with songs like Fantastic Baby, Sorry Sorry, Mirotic, I Got A Boy, Abracadabra. There's a reason second generation Kpop is called the golden era and groups like Infinite are a huge part of that. As an international fan, It was so easy to be a multi-stan back then, because everything was just amazing. Please keep going with Infinite. Their discography is top shelf and they are exceptionally good live. Also for one of your girl group days, Abracadabra by Brown Eyed Girls. Like I said, Kpop Canon.

I'm just a passerby who decided to check out the reaction because of the Infinite and new to your channel. Firstly, thank you for the reaction and happy you enjoyed the song, it's kind of legendary one in many ways. Regarding the comments and demand for the older groups, I wanted to say that maybe the majority of the fans of these groups usually older fans who not that active in the social media as they used to be and groups itself have longer periods of break between the comebacks and releases, so it might appear like there is not that much talk about them in the internet. (I'm speaking from my personal experience and for anyone else it may differ of course) I'm Infinite fan for almost 10 years now and even though they do not get a lot of attention in general media nowadays, they still active and have stable fandom. Hope you will be reacting to their music more and will find more music to enjoy!

Jeez these guys are great! There's something about 2nd gen groups that makes me really wish I had discovered kpop back then and had been around for all these legends in real time! As for being underrated, I think it's less that, than the fact that the market always fixates on what the younger fans are listening too and the older you get, the more you will come to realize that names you think are written in stone on the wall of absolute legends never to be forgotten do in fact get forgotten. I personally will never forget the day I was on a bus, and the song Moves Like Jagger was the biggest hit of the year and these two girls, by my guess in high school, were discussing it and legit wondering who Jagger could be. And that was over 10 years ago! Like I'm not even a Stones fan, my mom was the Beatles all the way, but my brain kind of short circuited at the thought that these girls aged at least 15 yrs old, with access to the internet for their entire lives, were completely baffled as to why Maroon 5 would write a song about some random dude called Jagger. 🤦But there you go. Anyway, as we are apparently entering the 5th gen of kpop now, people aren't clamouring for 2nd gen reactions as much because they aren't trending, is my theory. But they are missing out! BTW SuJu Ryewook did a cover of Moves Like Jagger that is far superior to the original. 🔥 kzitem.info/news/bejne/lGNq2pZonWZ4eII

2nd gen reminds me a lot of metal 2nd gen, it's weird. Sometimes downright strange, but absolutely completely game changers despite all the strangeness. YES! YES!! YES!!! (you can tell how happy I am lol) I like to say some things about this song: - That synth in the beginning already sealed the deal. It's EAR-CATCHING! Fun fact: it's a Korean instrument synthesized, giving the song its Korean influence while appealing to modern listeners. - The CHORUS... do I need to say more? Powerful harmonizing + infectious brass over an uptempo rhythm... YES PLEASE! - The second-verse rap... THIS is what a GREAT K-pop rap sounds like! To have him rap like that over the constant, uptempo beat with the synthesizer back in action? Holy sh*t! - The break before the second hook is just a genius musical production (Sweetune is the producing team that produced a lot of great and iconic K-pop tracks). After spending a good minute and 20 seconds with no break, the song finally breathes a bit before punching us in the gut again lol - That key change leading to the song's monstrous climax I'm curious if you plan on reacting to more INFINITE songs for a week or two (like you did with BTS, Super Junior, TVXQ!, 2NE1...). I also like to know which other groups might get that treatment as well. Finally, I have a suggestion for what you could do for your channel. I'm thinking a series like Throwback Thursday/Flashback Friday would be great for you to keep track of older K-pop tracks, and on other days, you can react to current/recent songs. You don't have to post every day (don't want to burn yourself out), but this is in terms of balancing what K-pop songs you should react to. I'm thinking for throwback reactions, any song released at least 5 years ago should count (so 2018 and backward). What do you think?
@Killdeer25
Жыл бұрын
I am a little surprised! but hey! I can see why they are pretty wild! also I love explanation, honestly I was so wilded I didnt know how to respond honestly but yeah, I honestly think this is one of those songs that will be seen as one that just holds the test of time. I think it still sounds fresh! I had no idea about the Korean instrument, which one is that? ok, so its funny that you say that, because sadly. I dont think I will be able to do a month long BigBang event. I know that I promised that, but honestly I dont think that there is enough content there, so. I was actually thinking about changing it up, as for One Week Club (OWC) I do have some planned out still. for example, this month is Mamamoo, in fact I will be making that post tomorrow calling for suggestions. October will be pretty busy. I will have it be a memorial/OWC for Astro and Moonbin. November will probably be another girl group as its every other. so that being said. I very much could see it being Infinite for December. When it comes to OWC it usually has to have a group that has enough content, usually its 21 songs a guide and a funny moment or something similar it goes from Monday to Monday now, Dreamcatcher caused that haha! but in any case, I'd love to have some recommendations. because there is a few groups I do think will also be getting the OWC treatment like Seventeen, TXT, Twice maybe even ITZY but honest its all up in the air right now. I have not thought about doing a throwback Thursday, however. I am intrigued by the idea, because I like to expand on the new stuff and not dwell to hard in the past, however. I do see the value in going back with KPOP, because it is such a storied journey its had, I do go back and listen to older bands for that reason. so having something that directly calls to older bands is actually a very solid idea. I am very much open to hearing more of your ideas, and plans. I will still keep the schedule as light as I can for the reason of burnout, but. I am not really worried about that yet. so if you want to help or come up with some ideas, I am all ears

@@Killdeer25 The Korean instrument is haegeum. From what I've heard, the synth loop is influenced by the instrument. Here's the link: kzitem.info/news/bejne/l4SDu5p3nF-WZYI (you'll hear the similarity around the 2-minute mark) As for throwback reactions, I'm thinking you should post on the community tab and ask for song recommendations. As others have mentioned, the older groups usually have older fans who are not as active on social media due to having other life obligations. But theres also this thing about domestic popularity vs international popularity - some groups that are practically unknown in a lot of English speaking reactions are popular within Korea. BTOB is another gem that most (English speaking) Kpop reactors don't really know about, but they are wildly popular in Korea. Literally they're called "trusted listen BTOB" because even non-Melody - BTOB fans are Melodies because BTOB means Born to Beat and every Beat needs a Melody - will listen to their songs because they're so good. Their song Missing You might as well be Korea's second national anthem because everyone and their grandparents knows that song. A lot of older groups have long periods of inactivity as a group but the members themselves are busy with solo work, so theres not as much constant hype. And with a lot of 3rd gen guys having been in the military and then coming back, there's a lot of "whoa who are these guys" from newer reactors. recs for 2nd/3rd gen guys: 2pm: latest release 2021 - Make It, most popular - My House, my fave - ADTOY (aka *the* 2nd gen baby making song) BTOB : latest release 2023 - Wind and Wish, but also watch their Killing Voice for serious eargasms, most popular - Missing You, my fave - Higher (a b-side off their 2022 album) Vixx: last group promoted release 2018 - Scentist, most popular - probably Chained Up which is also my fave GOT7: latest release 2022, Nanana, most popular - Just Right, my fave - Just Right or Hard Carry Teen Top: latest release 2023 - Hweek, which is just a very fun summery bop, most popular - No More Perfume on You or To. You, my fave - Rocking

@@Killdeer25 glad I could help! you can actually start with Killing Voice to sort of get a handle on their music - and I'm not kidding about the eargasms, they do amazing harmonizations - as it gives you kind of a sampler (granted most of them are ballads bc that's their forte but Higher and Blue Moon are always a shock lol) and you don't have to watch multiple MVs to find that one that really resonates with you. Keep in mind that they didn't do some of their more upbeat title tracks like Outsider or Show Your Love (both of which were done with only 4 members because of military). Melodies can be kind of overwhelming at times - we just get really excited (much like the Beats themselves) to have others find BTOB. Apologies in advance. ...they will also ruin you for mediocre singing forever. Sorry about that too lol
