I think you’ve done a great piece on this one Ed and makes perfect sense that this bit of land “all 3parts included” logistically just isn’t big enough for a new development of the magnitude required. Then to cap off you need to find room for surrounding amenities for example having a new stack on site, new roads, and car parks etc. Personally that only really leaves options for a stadium expansion or to give it a kick up the backside and move it into leazes park. I think that interview you had with that lady gave suggestion to closer to home options. It’s just a shame the club can’t keep us fans up to date and be up front with what’s actually going on.
@TynesideLife

Cheers Lawrence 👊🏻👍🏻 I should clarify that a stadium built inside Leazes Park is a bonafide none starter and this wasn’t what was meant when I interviewed Marion. There may be some scope to rebuild the stadium and move it slightly North West to a position where it may encroach on the park a little. The club won’t make a statement on the current state of play until the feasibility study is complete and they know their options. That may take some time

What about the proximity to the heart of the city ? the pubs? the car parks? the train station? The history of the club at St James's from 1880 ? What would happen to the existing. site if the new was built in a new location? If the all seating in certain areas were abolished how many extra supporters could be packed in? Nearly 70,000. attended to see Hughie Gallacher's return as a Chelsea player and that was before the higher level stands were built! Just think laterally about how an extra 10 or 20k could be squeezed into the current ground! Solution is simple imho, just knock down those grade 1 listed buildings behind the east stand. It's not like Newcastle is short on listed buildings. Let's put the needs of the majority in the city and surrounding areas before some heritage shyte only a tiny percentage of the population bothers with in the first place. I wouldn't mind so much but those Georgian buildings are all front, literally!!! They're shyte inside. I'm sure our owners would compensate the property owners appropriately. Needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

No mate, you’re completely wrong. Hello Malcolm, you’re conflating two entirely different things. You’re citing an example of a government ‘pledge’ on a future event. I contacted a government department to comment on whether something was in place, or recorded, right now. They didn’t even need to respond to me directly. I could have done this through an FOI (freedom of information request) to obtain the information. Authorities are obliged in law to provide information on request, they can’t just make it up, or lie, because in the Uk we have systems in place to verify this information. A political party ‘pledge’ is simply that, a pledge, an intention, or promise. This means they can be reneged upon, if for example economic circumstances change. The information I received is absolutely and entirely accurate and relevant. It also fits in with what is recorded on the proposed plans and applications in process for this land. These plans are open to public scrutiny at any time. As they are also in effect commenting on the activities of a private business (NUFC), they need to make sure the information they’re providing is accurate and in no way compromising. To clarify. NUFC have no plans under consideration to relocate their stadium to this area. Fact. Unlike other channels that operate on supposition and conjecture, I find that making due diligence checks and investigation is the best route.
