I've been to Hobbiton twice. The first time I took a thousand pictures. The second time I took probably 5 times that and annoyed everyone with me :) Happily, the tour path changed slightly so there was even more to see.
Everyone knows the round hobbit doors in the shire but one thing that is there in the scenes of the movies but not center stage, the planters. There are tons of them all over and the groundskeepers have plants in all of them!
Two of those planters caught my eye, one by a house and one next to the green dragon inn, which I might add you get a beer at the end of the tour. I really want to make all of the planters and many other items there but I'm starting with this one.
Part of the challenge of this is that I'm making a copy of a movie prop Weta Workshop made. I'd like to think I got pretty close to what they made before the 'wear in' period started. I'd actually really love to get into prop making for movies but I'm not sure how one really does that. The good news is I"ll be doing this with old-school hand tools, which is how a hobbit would have done it themselves!
This is Part 2
I hope you try it yourself and I hope you enjoy it.

Music: Me on my Seagull guitar. I can't really play but I can pluck D C and G chords decently.
