Glad you had a good experience! WRX is a great platform to learn on. So many modding options and paths you can go down. Glad you didn't take out the radiator. No need to do that when installing the Stealthbox. If you ever run into any issues, feel free to reach out to our customer service team. Happy to help when needed.

glad to see 4-5 years later that Subaru has not fixed the intake snorkel rubbing away the paint under the two mounting tabs/holes. I was not a happy camper when I discovered this on my '19 WRX when changing out the headlight bulbs. At least on my 2004 GTI, VW was smart enough to put clear tape circles where there could be something rubbing against the paint.

Awesome to the point video. I just bought a 2021 WRX with this setup installed on it so I am just trying to learn a bit about the install process since I am wanting to change out my headlights to LED's and this heat shield completely blocks any access to the headlights. Just installed on my 2018 WRX Premium with the upgraded Clutch ( 2nd half of the year) just added that In since idk if it would change the layout near the intake. It was a pretty easy install thanks to these instructions. Only this is @ 1:36 I wish it was more clear on where rather than just being zoomed in on it. Other than that the test drive was amazing. I was already at stage 2 with a new Jpipe and a 3in cat back exhaust and the sound Combo was simply “Sexy”. Hearing the turbo wind up and release with my exhaust was perfect. I could also feel more power /Torque when I Floor it. 5/5 satisfied

NO! That is strictly for Cobb's intake, not Grimmspeed's. Regardless, you shouldn't use OTS maps. Get a custom tune.
@rapl1183
3 жыл бұрын
@@foo1111 OTS maps are perfectly suitable so long as you follow the guidelines for them. While yes, you are correct, custom protunes or even an e-tune is preferred, many people don't have access to a protuner (like myself) without driving 3 hours. And e-tunes are viable, however, you're stuck without a drivable car until you can send your specs from your AP to the e-tuner...and then have them send back a custom map (however long that process might be.) If only upgrading to stage 2, OTS maps should be perfectly fine (and conservative.)

I’ve seen your Grimmspeed aluminum turbo inlet and wondered what kind of horsepower it would be necessary to get that. It seems if I was to get the inlet and intake, that it would be beneficial to install them at the same time. I have the 15 WRX fa engine. I have no engine mods, and for my stage 1 build I was considering this intake, is the turbo inlet and 3-port BCS essential at a certain HP or what are your guys guidelines on those additions?
@GrimmSpeed
2 жыл бұрын
Getting them at the same time would be beneficial because you could tune for everything at once. If you are building your car for the long term and want to do it right, getting the full setup that was designed to work flawlessly together makes the most sense. Now with the addition of the New GrimmSpeed Bypass Valve, GrimmSpeed makes pretty much every part of the WRX induction system. The GrimmSpeed 3-Port boost control solenoid is going to be one of the first upgrades you want to do. It will smooth out your boost curves, give you better throttle response and help your tuner get the best power increases out of your car.

Dear GS representative, I've been looking into intake systems and yours has by far been my no. 1 choice and favorite intake design. But I'm curious about this man's explanation of the intake resonator and wondered why no aftermarket intakes use them. kzitem.info/news/bejne/xWearneei3lyY4o
@xex2kok
2 жыл бұрын
One mistake being made here is that you are looking at a video where someone is talking about removing the intake resonator from a stock system. So yes, if you hack apart a stock system you will have issues here. They are designed to be used in that system. A majority of the time the resonator are there simply to make the car quieter as well, something enthusiasts do not want. This is why with the GrimSpeed intake you can hear the turbo better. When you have an aftermarket intake like this one you can see that they did testing on airflow and how smooth it was. Most of this guys video was about exhaust resonators anyway. I understand they can relate. People put those on their cars all the time without relating them to their intake and they work great on their own though. Something else to consider here is the dude is talking about a Hummer that is NA. On an NA car exhaust pressure does matter, let us not get into the argument about what type of pressure matters though. On a turbo vehicle the only thing that matters is having a lack of restriction, that is why you see 3" or larger exhausts sometimes. So even if what this guy is talking about is real it isn't going to be real for this car imo. Basically if you are modifying your car at all everything this guy is saying is pointless. You would need to figure out what frequency to cancel out with your resonator because it is now no longer running how stock would so everything is out the window as far as what the engineers did in stock form. My opinion anyway.
