Thats awesome man! CONGRATULATIONS! I'm starting all over at 42, degree in music, toured with 3D MAW BAND USMC, fractured my lowest vertebrae, took 10 years to heal and now I'm almost ready to start releasing some content. I have no band, no funds, but I dont care, I just want to drum man. KEEP GOING BRO!!! At your young age you can get there for sure!!!

i know a guy that became touring musician with his own band in his early forties, so it's never too late i guess.
High level athletes go through similar issues with their performance. It's called the "yips". I would say save the time you want to use learning your set left footed, and instead find the cause of what's inhibiting your right's performance. I'd bet the fix will take much less time than what you are proposing. Just my two cents. Love your drumming and channel! Keep us posted!

I'm also dealing with some right foot fatigue and your contemplating has me wanting to do the same thing. Just gotta get my hands on another set of hats. I've always noticed that I tap my left foot along to songs in the car since I'm not using it to drive and I feel better with it. Not to mention that I'm a lefty that plays drums right handed, so I might break my brain doing this. Awesome vlog Craig!
@Garage-1881

Bro, switch it all up to the right side and play open handed left. This would switch up your feet like you want, but also give your hands, as their trianed righty, to still get after it. Think Phil Colin's setup but playing it like Carter Beauford, Simon Philips, and Billy Cobham. I started out as a kid playing left lead with my left on the hi-hat and right on the snare because it didn't make sense to cross my hands. My middle school band director made me switch to right hand lead in order to be in the jazz band. Still think he did me a disservice. I've been wanting to switch up the entire thing for a long time, though, and go full left hand setup but play open handed, but that requires buying a left-footed double bass pedal. Good luck man hit me up let me know how it goes!

Have you looked at doing any kind of unilateral core stability? Side plank marches, overhead kettlebell carries, Pallof press.. this sort of stuff. Intuitively it would make sense to me, if it's something which gets aggravated by longer periods sat at the throne. I reckon the less unnecessary movement you have at your torso, the better the 'signal' will be getting through to your legs

Was so into drums for about 4 years before I could buy and have a space to play, I car drummed a lot so naturally used the left foot as it was less busy and was a huge fan of Travis Orbin and Gene Hoglan that I forced myself to play ambidextrous. Was easier than I thought except for open hand ghost notes…cross stick just has a feel that I can turn my brain off and not think about playing ghosts.

Just my input on missing power in your right foot. Maybe you are already but i feel like you could really have benefits in seeing a sports physotherapist. Idk if there are drums specific ones but otherwise maybe a sports physio with a background in cycling (because of the kinda similar positioning and power vectors). Idk I'm just spitballing here but it could be really helpful to get some input on your body position.

Same thing happens to me mate. I had an old skating injury that I didn't let heal and went from using a single pedal like a beast for double time punk beats to having to go to a double pedal just to be able to do it overnight. Never came back. My left feels totally normal but my right is fucked up. I have to use heaps more leg muscle to get my right foot to do what I want it to do. This has now caused me to lose a lot of coordination. I can no longer just use my ankle without using my whole leg as one movement if that makes sense. Could be back related as well, who knows, I'm 41 haha. It's frustrating as fuck though. Gave up skating around 20 and I'm still playing drums professionally now. Wish I'd never picked up a board lol
@je6164

Maybe the way you sit in general has an impact on your posture. There could be some compensation happening as a result. Also, maybe your Right is more Leg playing and, your Left more Ankle playing. Meaning the left could always be more relaxed.

Bought a set of dyna sync pedals a while back and had a weird experience with them. Either too heavy but mega powerful or too light and overly responsive. Tried to get along with them for a while but ended up trading them in for some iron cobras. Part of the experience could be to do with my foot technique but I definitely found them to feel unusual compared to other pedals.
