midnights is pop. it sounds like if 70s and 80s pop was made nowadays. has a very classic but modern feel to it. NOTHING like folklore and evermore tho. i have a feeling you will enjoy it tho so we expect an album (and music videos) reactions!!!! please :D

The bonus tracks though (3am Edition Tracks) sound a lot more folkloreish and evermoreish, but still fresh and a bit more dancey

I really didn't expected invisible string to be your favourite. Don't get me wrong, it's also my favourite. It's so sweet and intimate that I can't help falling in love with it. I really love how you really listened to her music, I could see how your opinion changed Song by Song and as a fan of her is always wholesome to see people appreciate her artistry. Good ones you chose, great video!

Contrary to the aesthetic Midnights' artwork is suggesting, the album is actually quite poppy for your taste I think, but a different kind from the bombast of her early pop singles, and the songwriting is reminiscent of the folkmore era although she returns to first-person narration. Very keen to see you react to the album (and please do the bonus, "3am edition" tracks too!).

you're right, but the album photos with the Wurlitzer did suggest a synth sound, and it's the most synth album she's ever done! i think jack did a really good job of using literally every vintage synth he had and putting it on the album lmaoo

Coming from someone who doesn't typically listen to pop, I'm not 100% sure you'll like Midnights. I mean, I personally liked it, but it does have some tooth-rotting, cheesy (albeit the good kind), glittery pop songs that some people might not enjoy. Perhaps it would be better to listen to a few songs that you'll *likely* like (I think like Sweet Nothings, Maroon, Lavender Haze, Anti-hero maybe???) first and decide if you want to dive into the full album from there, rather than going through all the songs in order.

Wow this is it what a conclusion to this little journey. There were a few i expected to show up and a few which i didn't expect to make it to your top 10 and that prob wouldn't be in my top 10, but that just shows how music grows on you and you form your own connection to the songs. Anyway, i'm really looking forward to future videos (btw buzzfeed has made another swift or shakespeare quiz for your dad to take if he wants to). Regarding Midnights, despite its aestethic it really is more electronic pop, which disappointed me a little bit at first (was hoping for a soft 70s fleetwood mac rumours/joni mitchell kinda vibe personally). So it might not be entirely to your taste. The songs are still good tho and her masterful lyricism is still very apparent. I do hope you want to react to the entire album, but if you only plan on doing a few may i recommend the 3 AM edition with its 7 bonus tracks. They are the best on the album in my opinion. It would also be fun to see your reaction to Anti-hero (it has a music video) and mastermind.

Yes, I've heard it's quickly becoming many people's new favorite album. And yes, Dad is teaching now, so he's busy all the time. But we're figuring out time to shoot another, hopefully a couple more, vids with him.

I'm actually amazed you were able to come up with a list of 10 favorites. I think I would lose too much sleep trying to do that for a pair of albums that I've spent far too much time listening to, thinking about, and feeling so many things for.

I'm surprised by some of your picks here! But IMO there's nothing on either album that is a bad choice and it would be very hard for me rank them. This is a nice little wrap-up, thanks for taking us on this little journey with you! By the way, if you liked how Marjorie was a tribute to her grandmother, I think you'd also really like "The Best Day" from Fearless, which is a tribute to her mother, and definitely one of the sweetest songs she has ever written. It really conveys her love and appreciation for her mother. And the Taylor's Version has a music video for it which is filled with old pictures and footage of her and her family that is a lovely accompaniment to it!

I clicked on this soooo fast!! Would you possibly consider reacting to her previous albums but especially the rerecorded ones, or Midnights or Lover. Lover, Folklore, Evermore & Midnights arent labelled 'Taylors version' as they are hers anyway but shes currently redoing the previous 5. So far only Fearless (Taylors version) Red (Taylors Version) are out & everyones chomping at the bit for her other 3 albums(me included😂). 😁 I would say for her album reputation, the live versions of the songs are even better than the orignals. Shes amazing Live in all ways. Ps My secret song no one knows is Lava by a band called Silversun. Its a bit of an oddity but good gods I love it😂😂

Midnights is going to have a music video for every song. The video for Anti-hero is already out, and another video is supposed to be released this Tuesday I believe. You should react to the videos as they come out!! Then after that maybe you could react to the 3am songs, there's seven of them. Eight if you include Hits Different from the target deluxe edition (or ten if you include the remixes).

As always, I really enjoyed your thoughtful and good-humored commentary. Your choices were lovely, and it was interesting to hear about what stood out to you in each of them. I was especially happy that The Lakes made your list -- I don't think it's usually among the most popular choices, but like you said, it does make it more special to have an underrated favorite :) Thanks so much for this epic project!

I love your picks, totally agree ! Thank you for spending time dissecting the lyrics and the music itself. If you could do some reaction to her Midnight album, it would be nice. My favorite from that is Anti Hero. The vide o is great and funny. Most of them are good but if you listen to the lyrics, it is mostly sad thoughts and reflections . She is a very good lyricist!
