I usually don't like that guitar shape, but with that pickguard it gets a whole new personality. Really nice.

You got to leave it to Hagstrom. To even make a guitar that’s perfect for the texture and tone needed for heavy metal riffs; they were even able to make that thing reverberate so gorgeously well and to also have their own articulate texture to their own tone like they always have with stuff like the Swede Tremor and Viking models. I honestly can’t help but come off as an obviously biased consumer to their products. Excellent articulate gorgeous tone and texture overall. They really do know their engineering well.

Ben is rapidly becoming my favorite guitarist. Him playing over Fluff's rock solid solid rhythm is a total win. I recently heard Ben playing old Van Halen riffs for the new Top Jimi Kemper profiles and that was when I knew he was an elite level player. If you haven't heard it, go to his KZitem page and listen. Close your eyes and you think you're hearing old Van Halen records. And Fluff is a staple guitarist on the Tube. Sweet.

you're too kind, sir!!!! When there's players out there like Brandon Ellis, Wes Hauch, Jimmy Herring, Sims Cashion, Andy Wood, and Emil Werstler, i'm not sure that what i do is up to snuff, but i'll take the praise all the same!

Dude, you are selling yourself short. Way short. Yes, those are great musicians you just listed. And there are many more, but your name is right there too. I am not easy to impress, and to cover Eddie as effortlessly and so fluently as well as your other work is just killer. I have been at this for 30 years and Uncle Ben telling me why I suck at _____________ (insert technique here) and then showing me the right way to do it has made my playing better than I could ever have done with anyone else. Perhaps my being a student has made me biased, but that is how it all shakes out to me.

I have a Hagstrom Select Ultra Swede. And I love it. I took it to a Guitar shop to get a string change. And played it along with a Gibson 2015 Les Paul Standard. The Les Paul sounded thin compared to the Hagstrom. I played them both through a Orange Dual Dark, Mesa Boogie Mk V, Peavey 6505. Hagstrom hands down, The guys in the shop couldn't believe it...

I can wholeheartedly recommend the Hagstrom range in general. I've had a Viking Deluxe for nearly two years now, and it's never let me down. Seriously reliable instrument that blows the competition (which at that price range is mainly Epiphone) out of the water. The super swede, a les paul with a 25.5 scale, is particularly fantastic.

Finally some Hagstrom love. I've played them for about 6 years and own both a Swede and HJ800 and the #1 issue with all of them is the pickups. Swap those out and you have something rock solid that you can hang on a wall without worries (H truss). Seriously under rated guitars that are always let down by the pickups.

The OG Gibson RDs had a Fender 25.5" scale and Gibson wouldn't make them like that as well. Hagstrom has a long history of making guitars with the traditional scale and the longer scale, like the Swede and the Super Swede.
@zacharytomes5202
7 жыл бұрын
Laurence Nettel I mean under the circumanstances, I would personally shovel out money finding more RDs. I think the real issue is Simon (Alpha) and Martin (Omega) used a custom version discountinued model (RD artist), and finding one of those is utter hell. These new guitars look decent, but Ill admit ghost lacks the big punchy sound they used to have. Live it was mostly the drowned out attempts of Papa to hit high notes, and the sounds of drums layered over bass, layered over rythmn, layered over lead (in short not the sound you want

Yeah but is it worth $799? For that kind of cash you can get a Gibson or a decent Charvel...or anything else with EMG/SD pickups, locking tuners, Floyd Rose, etc. It just seems a bit bare for what you're paying. At least they could've put actual Lundgrens in it and charges like $50 more bucks...that would make me more likely to buy it and if they added locking tuners it's a no-brainer.
