You can see by the buildings how wealthy Halifax once was. I've been a few times and never remembered it as nice as this 😳

Thank you for visiting Halifax. The steps a Halifax Railway Station were blocked off for the general publics health and safety, they used to lead under the railway tracks to the Nestle confectionary factory. Nestle employees used the steps as a short cut to get to work. Anne Lister, made famous by the BBC television programme "Gentleman Jack" was layed to rest at the Halifax Minster. Halifax is worth another visit as there are places that you haven't visited in this video, Shibden Hall (Anne Lister's former home) is a short distance up the hill from the town centre. There is also a reconstruction of the infamous "Halifax Gibbet" near the bottom of the street named after it, the gibbet was a medieval beheading device that was used for executions between 1286 and 1650. The original gibbet blade is housed in Bankfield Museum, about half a mile outside the town centre. Dean Clough is also worthy of a visit, it used to house Crossley's Carpets, it was the largest carpet mill complex in the world. Dean Clough now houses, offices, a hotel, a theatre, bars, a nightclub, a fitness centre, a radio station, etc. Wainhouse Tower at King Cross was built for John Wainhouse in the early 1870's, standing 275ft tall, it is the worlds largest folly. It is said that Wainhouse's neighbour used to brag that nobody could see into his private garden due to the twenty foot high wall that surrounded it, so Wainhouse had his tower constructed to stop his neighbour from bragging about his gardens privacy.
