To someone unfamiliar with dedicated race parts. Why is this greased? Doesn't this locate the axle? Or is free to rotate and or slide in the cage? Is there another link for centering/controlling rotation?

the bearings in the cage have a thin low temp grease that around 100 degree melts out and when you wash car water gets in the bearings and thay start to rust then bind up robbing traction . Plus if on a steel axle tube the tube will not rust making very hard to remove the cage

@@HammondMotorsports I'm still not understanding. Let me phrase the question differently. What controls pinion angle and side to side axle travel if the axle is on bearings instead of rigidly attached to the 4-link mounts.

@@JakeMakesProductions we run a pull par on top of the rear end to control pinion or we can run a lift arm . then side to side we use a bar mounting to the chassis one side then the other end of the bar is mounted to the rear end its self like next to the pinion
