Out for an ride on my 2018 Honda Gold Wing and ended up racing a guy on a Harley--who do you think won? Let me know what you think in the comments. Thanks for watching! #motorcycles
I ride a GoldWing. A friend who rode a Harley once boasted he could repair his hog on the side of the road if it broke down. My instant reply: "I ride a GoldWing - it doesn't break down." He never made that boast again. We're still friends.

I hate when jerks... Usually on Harley's, who don't wave back at me! How can you look at another rider who's waving at you and not even respond just because I'm not on a Harley? Pretty heartless. To fix that issue of mine, I just wave to every bike, but I don't look at them when I wave... This way, if they don't wave back, I won't notice, but I still help keep the tradition alive by showing respect to every fellow motorcyclist out there, and I no longer get pissed if they don't wave back 😉

You don't ride often. I love the Gold Wing. It's an amazing bike, no doubt. However, putting less than 2 grand into a stock 114 and doing the work yourself, will have it eating your lunch. A simple non screaming beagle cam, pushrods, 55mm manifold, 5.5 injectors and exhaust (about 4 hours of work) will put 120 hp 130 torque to the wheel vs the 103/90 of the GW. I prefer the reliability and features on the GW, but let's be truthful here

A stock Harley hasn't a chance against a stock Goldwing. I don't understand HD riders that think they are better just because of their bike. HD are built in America with parts from Japan and China. Honda Goldwing built in America too with same parts from Japan and China. That makes Goldwing just as American as Harley. I respect and help all riders no matter what brand they ride or what brand i ride.

Most Harley guys where I live must have experience being spanked by a GoldWing, because I rarely get challenged on my 2010 Comfort NAV. Strangely enough, they do it all the time when I'm riding my Honda 919. They obviously know NOTHING about bikes, or even understand engines, because the 9'er weighs in at 450lbs wet, and has 110 horses with unbelievable torque. It an awesome "hotrod" naked style bike, tiny with a big engine. I always let them blast off from the line and then pass them in a 2nd gear power wheelie. Tons of fun!

Riders you pass buy them to wave hello and even if there right next to you the will totally ignore a person that don't have a H.D or many of them it's like no one else is good enough to say hi to if you don't have a H.D. not that I really give a whole. The Chemicals in the Batteries need to stay active or Sulfation will start building on your Plates and your Battery starts to loose it's endurance over time, that is why you need a Maintenance Charger on them when you put them away and if you live in a cold climate the cold will deplete them over time as well. You can easily get 5 yrs from a properly maintained Battery. I use one on all my Bikes and Lawn Equipment. Bought a Napa Battery back in 2017 for my V-Twin Lawn Tractor and it's still going strong, obviously not as strong but also no need to replace it this Season.

I'm not sure what battery is in my 2014 Valkyrie but I bought the back 4 years ago I live in Ohio so winters are cold but I was storing the bike in a buddies unheated barn in the winters and luckily haven't had any battery issues

Do you store them with a trickle charger or battery tender? I started doing that and think I’ve had better luck. Just curious…

@@JP1970 I haven't. Now my dad has an f6b and before that had an 06 wing and he had to put his on a trickle charger. I don't know if I just got lucky or what but every spring I've been able to fire it up without issue

I think you have been lucky...where i live it gets really cold in the winter, and i think the battery tender helps get them through it.

Each to their own but I often quietly wonder to myself why on God's green and blue earth would anyone buy a Harley with hard earned money. Abhorrent 1950s quality, looks only a drunk mother could love and no performance of which to speak. Why? - when there are real motorbikes around like Honda which will never leave you stranded and are quicker with top quality!? But I don't say this to anyone, just quietly think it all to myself ;-)

When you say "trickle charger", I do hope you're referring to a "battery maintainer". Trickle chargers can actually boil a battery to an early and tragic death.

That is a good point. I use a battery tender, which has been very good for keeping the battery charged and ready to go. Thanks!

I use a voltmeter every once in a while to make sure my battery tender is outputting the correct voltage. Mine reads 13.3 volts in float mode when set to charge a lead acid battery.

I tend to agree, but I had one of those V-Rods that was pretty darn fast--that one was half Porshe, though. 😃
