Harvesting Georgia Collard Greens So It Keeps on Growing.
You do not have to live in the south to enjoy Georgia Collard greens. I planted my collards from direct sow seeding in zone 5b. Harvesting collard leaves from the bottom up by picking the lower leaves first, working your way up the plant. The lower stem will be bare, making the plant look tree-like. The new leaves will grow from the center through cool weather. This is my second harvest.
