hope this video never gets taken down. this is the only angle that really does it justice showing just how incredible the speed is. this way anyone can clearly see even the last guy isnt slow.

He was a notoriously slow starter, this was one race where Bolt had a great start. In fact, you can see with this great angle that he was already slightly ahead within the first 20-30m. He ended up with the fastest first 50m in history and then added his incredible top speed and finishing speed to it. That's why nobody is breaking this WR for a LONG time. I wonder if he thought at the end of this race that this would be the fastest he would ever run. He probably thought he would run faster many times more after this but he never did. It's because he could never duplicate that first 30m again. It was just the one time where he got the start right. I love watching him dancing to the German music and just enjoying himself. He always enjoyed the events so much.

Usain Bolt had a good start (reaction time) BLISTERINGLY quick acceleration, super long and powerful strides, and maintained brilliant freakish top end speed to finish it off with 9.58. He somehow combined extremely explosive acceleration with his super long strides. That's why 9.58 won't be touched this decade or the next. None of these guys have the tools to run 9.5. Heck, he beat Tyson Gay who ran an extremely quick 9.71 by 1.5 meters. He kept on pulling away too.

@@iron2468 Nah the conditions were horrible in daegu. Also the fact that he only ran a 19.44 in the 200m when he was giving it his best tell me that he couldn't break his 100m record

@@iron2468 I know but if you look at when bolt ran his fastest, his 100m and 200m times correlated. 9.69 and 19.30 in 2008, 9.58 and 19.19 in 2009, 9.63 and 19.32 in 2012. When bolt is at his best in the 200m, he is also at his best in the 100m which makes sense since he trains for both of them together.

When all the other world class athletes stop to watch the event, then the 100m finals is still the premiere event of track n field, but then again there was never any doubt about it.

This is the view everyone should see. To get just a TASTE of how truly impossible 9.58, or even just sub 10 is for that matter. People see these races with the camera moving WITH them and they see the times and the numbers but they just dont understand. These men are MOVING

Tyson Gay competed in this race that's why Bolt set a world Record. Tyson did not run against Bolt in Bejing 2008 100 meter final. Tyson Gay was the only runner Bolt feared. He pushed Bolt.

He’s basically 6’ 5”, legs as long as most people are tall, slim as hell but somehow still 95kg. Essentially he has a small surface area because of his skinny frame so less air resistance, very long legs so his strides are ridiculously far, skinny but not lightweight which means he has very dense muscle, and impeccable form. He’s literally made for this.
