@@madgavin7568 Dom is a counter striker, that's why. Everyone else Garbrandt has fought have been vicious in your face strikers. He would've finished Dillashaw had he not let his emotions get to him and showed some discipline after he rocked TJ.

@@Triple-Four Dom isn't a counter-striker, he's an unorthodox movement fighter who can fight off the back foot if need be. Cody trained years at TAM to beat Cruz, but nobody else. He had moments against TJ because he was familiar with TJ's style, having trained with him prior to their infamous falling out. Cody's inability to improve or learn has cost him dearly. TJ by contrast learned from his mistakes and corrected them, which was why he was able to beat Cody twice and beat him more squarely in the rematch.

"Head mooment" is a double edged sword, if you suck at it, you can move right into a strike and get popped even worse than if you just stood still.

Watching Josh Crotch-check get punched in the face NEVER gets old. And watching Cerrone's lack of head movement getting him into trouble again and again throughout his career is frustrating. t makes me think it has to have come down to both coaching AND himself. cody garbrandt going from winning a clear cut decision against the consensus 135lb goat at the time, to being knocked out by any journeyman in the span of 1-2 years will always baffle me, he went from looking untouchable, to being unable to withstand a single barrage from even a decent striker. I guess it just shows how quickly you can fall off.

Same thing with Tony Ferguson, there was a point where people truly believed he was the biggest threat to Khabib in lightweight and was on an insane 12 fight win streak against some good ass fighters winning convincingly. Since Gaethje he hasn't won once and even lost to fucking Nate Diaz And he has been getting DOMINATED in every fight except Chandler but we all know what happened in round 2

The KO's by Woodley and Paulo Thiago were nice, but the systematic, relentless, and clinical dismantling of Koscheck's face by GSP was beautiful to watch. Every jab was well earned, in my opinion.

Those trademark GSP forward stepping jabs, and those superman jab into low kick combos were always a thing of beauty. But seeing Koscheck so consistently eat them every time GPS throws them is hilarious. But to be fair to Ortega, other than the final sequence in that fight against Holloway, his head movement was actually decent, Holloway is just that good placing his punches regardless.

Yep. GSP showed in an undeniable manner that Koscheck didn't belong in that ring with him. He didn't let him out easy with a finish though, he controlled the entire fight and turned the right side of Kosheck's face into hamburger.

I think there was a mental aspect, he had fights that would have put him right there and he just didn't show up, but then lower level top 10 fights he was on fire. And there's definitely an element to him just looking worse against the top tier competition, but he beat some legit guys in fights that just didn't have direct title implications.
