She mentioned that Christian Slater played her brother in a movie. How ironic, since people often used to think that they were brother and sister due to having the same last name. Also, a shout-out to Julian Sands-his remains have been found and identified as his. He's a good actor; I loved him in Smallville. I appreciated the fact that she addresses the patrons by name and thanks them for their questions.

My Lord!!! Helen you are a mantra of peace haha, I loved seeing and hearing ... I was even relaxed haha!!! Incredible!!! Michael I lost my grandfather recently and he was part of me you know, on the day of the sad news I was shocked... and as the days went by many memories came into my mind. He left a letter for me telling me what he thought about the stages of life! From 35 (because I'm 35) to 94 (the age he died) and it's incredible to read and even hear his voice... I think the pain eases, but the longing is eternal!❤❤

Also I've always loved her potrayel of Supergirl in the film. As I said so graceful, genuine and poised. Her flying moments were particularily spectacular. As was the Phantom Zone scene with Peter O'toole/Zaltar was very touching. Also wanted to add that her scenes on Smallville as Lara with Laura Vandervoort as Kara Kent/Supergirl were especially so heartwarming and moving. Some of my absolute favorites. They developed such a bond over the character of Supergirl. As well her scenes with Kristin Kreuk were very touching as well. All loved her entire contribution to the DC mythology.

Her talking about not knowing what "being free" meant...my mother's a narcissist, didn't teach me anything and still expected me to be like her and know what to do on my own. Threw me to the wolves. "You're an adult, go have your life." I had no idea what to do. I'm almost 40 now and just starting to figure my life out. Through my adult life I've discovered I'm not a good student-school never made me happy or accomplished-but janitorial absolutely does, and the condescending reactions from some people, "eww, you touch garbage." Yeah, but no one else is going to do it. I LOVE that Helen said to always put yourself in nature! I was lucky enough to roadtrip through NW Canada my first 18 summers with the family cause that really instilled an appreciation of nature and scenery and star-gazing. Incredibly grounding. ❤️

Wow Helen Slater.. Been here since seeing the Kevin Smith episode back Early 2023. Helen Slater as Supergirl to a Teenage Boy back in the 80's. Wow, I can still remember it now all those years later especially when she is laid in all that green stuff (2/3 though) & gets rescued.. Thank You Helen. Up there with Wonder Woman (Linda Carter), Wilma Deering (Erin Gray), V (Original 1984) & Baywatch 🙂 for programmes to watch as a teenage lad more for the Characters than the storyline.. Helen looks great for 60 & such a kind soul. The getting out into Nature alot works for clearing your mind. Definitely in the Top 5 of episodes Ive seen. Thanks for the memories Helen throughout the 80's & too this day of that Supergirl outfit 🙂 I googled the documentary & 1st result comes up on KZitem.

There was a missed opportunity how her playing Supergirl not only linked her to Smaillville later, but also her playing Kara's adopted mother in the Supergirl series. So that one role tied her to Supergirl lore forever. I couldn't believe I went to see the movie at the theater as a kid, but I was curious enough to see how it would go. So Helen Slater was always remembered for being a strong female lead, which wasn't common at the time.
