Great to hear from Miles and Al, but they still dragged that Clark/Lana storyline out way too long. That should've ended after season 4, and everything from season 5 on should've focused on Clark/Chloe and Clark/Lois. Also, moving Metropolis from the east coast to the middle of Kansas was wrong because having a city that big in Kansas is logistically impossible. They also should have fought harder to get the studio to let them make that teenage Bruce Wayne/Gotham show that The WB was originally going to make, and have it run as a companion to Smallville with the two shows crossing over with each other so that Bruce Wayne could appear on Smallville.

Great episode - always interesting and fun to listen to these two. Have been curious about what they will be up to ever since SHANGHAI NOON and finding SMALLVILLE in 2011 and am so glad they finally again have the success they deserve. I love WEDNESDAY, but it took me almost three months until I rewatched because it led me to a Swedish Netflix show that equally blew up globally, and I got lost in a Swedish rabbithole. So interesting to hear that Netflix was not only the only streamer interested in the show, but also so massively supportive - very good also for the rest of the world, as we could all watch simultaneously and not have to wait for the DVDs, as with SMALLVILLE. Netflix does so many interesting things that also bring the world together, as we all watch simultaneously - and great young actors' social media accounts blowing up to 2 million followers in a few weeks seems to be the rule now. From what I hear, at least Nordic Netflix does its best to prepare them for that and help them deal with it - 'be personal, but not private' seems good advice.

I would love to hear about the beginnings of their careers, early struggles, early connections. I love what they said about you being right for the role of Lex Luthor- every episode, even ones where you're not happy with the writing for Lex, you always have that consistent character pain, these little beats and moments that are so right. I certainly hope you reprise your role as Lex Luthor, but perhaps on the silver screen. All the best, Michael & team! Thanks for another excellent one!

I love the Tina Greer return episode! It's always fun when villains are brought back, and Tina has a menacing presence throughout the episode - she isn't just there for a battle, the episode makes her fun, threatening, entertainingly crazy, and memorable. It serves as a very perplexing mystery and interesting twist regarding Whitney's strange behaviour too. To me, Whitney is ultimately a minor supporting character, and didn't need a huge send-off. His father's funeral is grand because it depicts the unspoken interactions and consequently, the subtle, innate emotions and intentions of the characters at the funeral - We didn't know Whitney's father, we knew the situations modelled around his situation. Smallville is the first show to really have special effects that actually hold up for superhero TV, and it was very exciting due to that. I also enjoy how it works its way up to more substantial, intense situations, not having a "Big Bad per season" until later, as I've found that with shows like The Flash and Supergirl, that formula gets very old by the fourth season. Lionel and Lex are entrancing characters that always made the show feel worthwhile, even if a storyline or episode proved to be questionable in its content (I'm far more favourable in my reviews compared to Talkville by the way).

I feel so incredibly lucky to have an entire TV show of his work, he's my favorite Director 🙏🙏🙏 As a creation, it's genius! Bravo for making it so fun and entertaining and at the same time an empowering character for young people especially girls to enjoy ❤ Me and my Dad loved the Adams family so much as I was growing up. Debbie was our favorite!! We used to watch it alot. When Wednesday came out it was such a delight getting to enjoy it all over again in a really cool new way together, now that I'm 30yrs old. Thank you for doing it justice and then some 🙌🙌🙌 love from Ireland, Wicklow, where Season 2 is currently filming down the road from me ❤ (part of the set that we saw is huge and incredible) Also I adore Fred, thank you for casting him 💪❤️

Could you imagine the numbers, aka the absolutely INSANE level of success, that a 'Smallville' reboot on Netflix, headed up by Al & Miles, would do!?! Sadly, Hollywood is no longer in the business of making the fans happy/making content that the fans want - as if they really ever were... I can't say that this surprises me all that much, though. I mean, what should we expect from a group of self-serving, self-absorbed, conceited narcissists?!

Pity that they left and pity that you left Michael, since Smallville S 1-5 were very good, S 6-7 were good, S 8 was bad except for the Davis Bloome storyline, S 9 was terrible and S10 was bad. 45:42 I think I get it; you've got two TV directors who's last two shows were not smashing hits and a famed movie director whose last movies also bombed in many ways, so I don't know if I would go for it. The concept itself sounds like it could definitely fail if the tone was just a bit off and from what I hear some parts were just held together by Jenna being stubborn (in a good way) and refusing to let the show be off key which no one could have predicted really.

I think Al and Miles were spot on when they said that Michael, like Jenna, has that "innate" hint of darkness within them that nobody can act. It's either there or it isn't. Michael, I've always likened you to Bob Odenkirk in this way, which is why I think you'd kill it in a role like "Nobody"-the retired ex-hitman who brushes off his old skillset for some good ol' fashioned vengeance!
