Self-doubt is a one of the big confidence killers for athletes. When you have self-doubt, you don't have full confidence in our skills. Self-doubt can he both subtle and direct. You want to learn how to challenge your self-doubt. How can you help your athletes overcome self-doubt?
How to Challenge Your Self-Doubt: (1) Write down the top five doubts you’ve had before and during competition. Keep a log of these if you need to. (2) Challenge the validity of each doubt and fact check yourself: rationalize with your own doubt. How do you know these doubts are true? (3) Change each self-doubt into a statement of confidence. So change, “I just don’t have it today,” to, “You know how to grind it out and get the job done."
