My grandpa was friends with Charlie and Johnny. Charlie came over one time and went fishing in my grandpa's lake. I also had an uncle who toured with country music legend Conway Twitty's band. I've grown up around a lot of these legends. It's like losing a family member whenever one of them passes away.

There's 5 legends. Charlie Daniels - Mark O'Connor - Johnny Cash - Marty Stuart - Travis Tritt. This was a great follow-up to The Devil Goes Down To Georgia. The video for this song is what really makes it " Special ". Imagine if the ability to do videos when the Devil Goes Down To Georgia first came out ; I would bet - that video would be an instant classic.

For whatever reason I've been listening to a lot of Charlie Daniels lately and still had never heard this song until your reaction popped up. If you're a Cash fan and you've not heard it yet, the country acapella group Home Free did a cover of Folsom Prison Blues. As a major HF fan I think you'll fall in love with HF the moment you hear them. There's no words to describe how good HF are. Adam the beatboxer is just phenomenal, there's not a sound the guy can't copy!! Tim, the deep bass, can hit notes that I didn't even know existed. Austin has this pure tone to his voice that gives you chills and Rob - the bearded guy - is just as good singing opera as he is country and you can barely tell he's able to sing one from the other. He's just that good! Chance joined the group when Chris, Adam's brother and then 2 of them created the group, but when Chris stepped down Chance stepped in. He'll do bass when Tim is doing other parts but doesn't have the deep range that Tim does but Chance also has this beautiful baritone voice. As a group when they do a cover, most of the time you can still hear the original but they usually tweak it enough that they make it their own. Think you'll enjoy their songs if you haven't alrady heard them
