I've done that stretch with the muddy water more than once, with different Jeep guys - but I've always taken that bypass! I'm going to put together an FJ80 as my Overland rig - I'd love to do the entire trail once I get it ready.

I have been wanting to get into overlanding with my wife and kid and we have a family lake cabin on the ozarks. I never thought Missouri would areas you could overland but it makes perfect sense especially in the ozark mountains! Great video. Btw, do you have a music playlist? I love those songs man. Great video.

Do you have the trail route that you ran? For GPS or a map or anything? Would love to run something like this when I go down to the Ozarks to visit my brother...

Wow! That muddy water didn't look like it would be that deep! That must be the bit I read about on Proven Overland? Some tough looking rigs! Anyway really nice video, I like the way you've done the editing :)

***** I've run that trail with some Jeep guys, and everyone always takes that bypass. I don't have lockers or a snorkel yet, but some of the guys I've wheeled with do - and won't touch that hole either. One guy said he's seen 1 Jeep run through that, but it was fully-locked, on 40's. Props to you guys for trying it! Seeing you guys wheeling the NF's in your Yotas' really make me want to get my FJ80 ready for some more trail rides!

What month did you guys go on this trip? I am trying to plan a trip to this region in the fall, but would like to go when the trees are colorful and vibrant. I am trying to figure out the best time to schedule my trip in order to get the most out of the autumn season.

Awesome vid! I've run just a little bit of this route (north of Hector), but would love to make the time to run the entire route. We've gotten the winch mounted on our JK, and other recovery gear - but still need a snorkel.

Do you guys think a fullsize rig can do this trail? do you recommend a safari snorkel?
@OklahomaNative
9 жыл бұрын
Ben Parreno A full size rig can defintiely do it! It might get tight in spots, but you shouldn't have any major problems. Snorkel isn't absolutely necessary, but definitely recommended. Water levels were really low when we ran the trail, they are usually a lot higher and require a snorkel to make the crossings with peace of mind!

I wish Missouri would dedicate some the logging/service roads to OHV use! Great video keep it up!

almost all of the Mark Twain national forest is closed to Motor vehicle use and what parts are open are for bikes and atv's 50" width max!!!! There are a lot of logging roads but they mostly dead end only a few miles back.

Yeah and majority of the south part of the state is MTNF lot of land to explore/hunt/fish. Ever hear of the Ozark Trail here in MO its a Hiking/horse back riding trail that would be a awesome OHV trail. What I don't understand is its National forest and there are trails all over the country in National Forest I cant figure out why Missouri got left out. Wonder if it could be changed?
